1. How did you get into music?

Music was my escape.  I grew up in a "broken" home in a small town in Northeast Pennsylvania.  As a young child I would hide from all the yelling by staying in my room, playing Jewel and learning to write from her. I also grew up listening to Britney Spears, so she has influenced my singing and style immensely.  I knew since age 5 I wanted to be a singer.

I used to be embarrassed to sing in front of my family cause I didn’t want them to make a big deal about it, so it was always my little secret with my friends Lara, Rachel and Samantha.  I would record songs I wrote on cassette tapes and we’d play them, imagining them on the radio. My mom bought me a karaoke machine and I would practice in my room for hours with the volume down really low.  Eventually I started writing almost every day after school and singing in high school pop/rock bands we did for fun.  I was really into musical theatre and choir too.

Music was my past, it’s my present and my future.  I’ve been living in Los Angeles 5 years now pursuing music.  I hope to inspire people to go after what they want no matter what.

2. What was the inspiration for your latest tunes?

The latest song I released was "Turn Me All Around".  I wrote it in the summer with someone in mind.  It’s a fun dance song and was inspired by Britney Spears, Kaskade, Dr. Luke and Morgan Page.

3. What was the recording process like compared to your latest songs?

I loved working with Nalo Duvalle (Interscope-Snoop Dog, 50 Cent) on this track!  He really produced my vocals up to the next level. It was so hot and dark in the recording booth.  I got to be alone with the song and the tiger painting I did for Nalo on the wall, and let’s not forget my british alter ego who only comes out in the recording booth. Compared to sessions in the past, it was very creative, organized and top quality.

4. Any plans to record a full length album?

Sure!  It’s always been a dream.  For now I’m working on singles.  Check back with me soon!

5. What inspires you when writing music?

I think about what I want to tell the world with an infectious melody.

6. Who have you enjoyed playing with recently?

My musical friends in our home studios.

7. Who would you most like to sing a song with?

Jesse McCartney.

8.  How does social networking help with your music?

It led me to you!  And I get to connect with my friends and fans on a personal level.  It’s a chance to be real and for everyone to see that I’m a real person with ups and downs, not just a music machine.  For the inside scoop follow me on twitter at @aliciaskymusic and facebook.com/aliciaskymusic .

9. If you could work with any one who would it be?

Dr. Luke, Max Martin,  Morgan Page, Kaskade, Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia. To work with any of these musical geniuses would be a dream come true.

10. Any plans to go overseas and tour?

I’d love to!  At the moment keeping it in the U.S. but I’m definitely open to the possibility in the future!
