Scarlet is talented singer songwriter from Melbourne Australia doing good things, I really dug what I heard and wanted to give this artist some love. So she kindly answered my questions.

1.What was the inspiration behind the new song?

Well the meaning to my new single ‘Don’t Talk Dirty’ is to show and make people see how this world is going, but as heard in the chorus, there will be a positive outcome.

2. What inspires you when writing music?

It really depends on the situation really haha.. I find that I usually write about the truth, so what ever I’m feeling at that moment is what I write about J

3. How important are music videos to what you are doing?

I think music videos are very important, as that way I can show to the world what I’m about 😉 I guess you could say that it’s another form of expression.

4. What buzz do you get from people responding to your music?

It makes me happy if I see other people are enjoying my music! a lot of time and effort is put into creating them and turning them into a finished product, it makes me feel accomplished. If I happen to get some negative feedback, it doesn’t really bother me too much, as everything isn’t for everyone J

5. How does social media and the internet help you as an artist?

Well, It is definitely a lot easier to promote your music yourself today, than it was twenty years ago!

6. What does it mean to you to connect to your fans?

I love my fans! Without their support there wouldn’t be much going on haha

7. What buzz do you get from performing live?

Well, too be honest it can be very nerve racking before you jump on stage, A thousand thoughts go through my head at once, worrying about remembering lyrics and etc haha but once I get up there and I see the people looking at me wanting to hear what I’ve got, I feel at home J

8. If you could have anybody in a video clip who would it be?

Hmm not sure actually, I’ve never really thought about that before, but if it came to recording a song together with an Artist, I think it would be Krayzie Bone from Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony <3 J

9. What does the rest of 2014 have in store for you?

Releasing my Album of course J and some other stuff you will hear about shortly 😉

10. What would we find you listening to recently that has inspired you?

Haha, I feel so repetitive when people ask me this question, but I can’t lie, I love Mariah Carey and she has always Inspired me since I can remember. I love music with soul, so I’m pretty open minded to anything that brings good vibes J
