The Jack Rabbit Slims Interview

The Jack Rabbit Slims

This is The Jack Rabbit Slims. they answered some questions of mine. They are doing good things for an Aussie band so read on.

1. What was the inspiration behind the new song?

Being as loud a noisy as we could be, the song as a whole started from cranking Alex’s bass amp as far as it could go and writing jamming out a song from that.

2. What inspires you when writing music?

Whatever band we have just gone to see. One of our new songs is pretty heavily inspired by Violent Soho and I think that came from seeing them play at Falls over new years.

3. What buzz do you get from playing live?

Playing as a band in this line up is still kind of new for us so each time we play its a mix of ‘oh, shit don’t mess this up and sweet we get to play in front of actual people!’

4. Do you have any thing you do before you play live?

Nothing in particular but I think during this up coming tour we might just build some kind of ritual.

5. Is an album in the works?

Not just yet. I think at the moment we are more focused on getting another EP out there.

6. What can people expect from your show?

Three sweaty as fuck dudes playing their hearts out which will hopefully make you wanna dance.

7. If you could collaborate with any one who would it be?

I would love to have Jack White produce and appear on a song of ours. The Jack Rabbit Slims ft. Jack White sounds pretty cool I think.

8. If you could have anybody in a video clip who would it be?

Probably Christian Bale if he brought his Batman get up.

9. What does the rest of 2014 have in store for you?

More writing, hopefully a bit more touring and ideally another EP at some point.
