Tied together by family and soaring harmonies, The Pairs share stories of life’s hope, hilarity, and hardship. Pull up a seat around their lively kitchen table for a unique blend of music that will hug your eardrums and make you want to groove.

A smattering of feelings and self-doubt, “Superhuman” tells a personal yet relatable story of realizing how we get caught up in the way we’re being perceived by others instead of truly experiencing life and all the feelings that come with living. We’re not perfect, so why do we put so much energy towards trying to convince people that we are? This song marks the intention to try and drop the hyper perfectionism and accept ourselves as fallible and human.

Canadian singer-songwriter Ryan Wayne‘s new single, “Forty Paces to the Bottom,” began as a simple folk song, was carried into live performances by Wayne‘s past band, The Warped 45s, and eventually coalesced into the production you hear today.

Creating a narrative out of life’s personal challenges, “Forty Paces to the Bottom” places particular emphasis on financial insecurity, alcoholism, mindfulness, lost love, and indecision.

This moody and plaintive folk rock reflection discusses Wayne‘s attempts to be mindful and present, letting go of the anchor that is the past.

As a prolific content creator, you may be familiar with DATSUNN from his Twitch streams, his captivating Instagram beat making videos, or his collaborations with major brands like Native Instruments, Roland, and many more. But no matter how you arrive, Datsunn’s entrancing blend of classic hip-hop, soul, and R&B will entice you to stick around. Citing influences that run the gamut from J Dilla to Lewis Taylor, DATSUNN has perfected an ultra-smooth brand of engrossing eclecticism that is as fresh as it is familiar.

His new song, “End of the Day,” inspires a sense of peace and calm. It was created as part of a YouTube series he was working on, called Behind The Pads, where he picked a random sample and made a new piece of music based on it. This particular sample came from Toronto producer, The Kount.

The lyrics came to Datsunn easily as he was thinking about what he values in this world and wanted to share it with his audience: “All these things we need, like money, fame and greed. Do they mean anything? At the end of the day.”

Toronto-based indie-soul artist, Jeremy Voltz, is embracing a grittier pop sound on his new collaboration with singer-songwriter, Oliver Charles. Voltz’ first new single of 2023, “Miracles,” is about the courage to journey, leave one’s old life behind, and trust the process.

Miracles” embraces the belief that great things will happen out of sheer force of will, mirroring the trust that Voltz put in Charles when he first travelled to Montreal to collaborate with the then stranger.

The acoustic guitar and vocal-led track unfurls into a richly dark and eerie soul-infused release. Bass synth, epic drums, and organ channel the stubborn desire behind one’s willingness to go for it, inspiring a sense of awe in pursuing one’s dreams.

Hamilton indie rock band, Mister Rabbit, are sharing an incendiary new track which captures the feeling of being pulled in every direction both emotionally and physically.

Anyone” first took shape eight years ago, when singer and guitarist Jeff van Helvoort felt an urge to cut himself off from his past, present, and future.

Working with producer Jeff McMurrich, this bass driven track uses old Moogs and film amps to create a massive soundscape, adding texture with acoustic guitar to embrace a playful and absurd energy.

Helena Li is a Toronto-based singer and songwriter whose musical journey started in Beijing in the 90s, years before she moved to Canada in her late teens. After spending some time in the music industry as a professional, Helena made the bold decision to embark on her dream path as a recording artist, and break boundaries for artists with Asian immigrant backgrounds in North America and beyond — a dream which has come to fruition with her debut single, “Montana.”

To craft her unique, story-driven brand of pop, Helena draws inspiration from Western pop legends including Ali Tamposi, Marina and The Diamonds, Ava Max, Sia, and Florence + The Machine, infusing the synthesis with a unique blend of Eastern elements.

“Montana” is written about Helena’s unrequited crush – a pharmacist where Helena frequently picked up her prescriptions. Helena went back to China for some time, and when she went back to the pharmacy years later, the pharmacist was gone. She never even knew her name, so she called her Montana.
