New Music Saturday

Eunice Keitan is a Malaysian/Canadian singer-songwriter whose music reflects her diverse international background and eclectic influences. With a captivating blend of Neo-Soul and World Folk styles, Eunice creates a unique sonic landscape that is both soulful and innovative.

Her latest offering, “Cobalt Sea,” pushes the envelope a little further by combining South American and Southeast Asian soundscapes. It features both the marimba and gamelan while still remaining in the framework of the soul genre.

New Zealand based Rockers Haas Hunter are back again with their new single ‘Serpent Seeker’, which was premiered exclusively via The Rock Pit. The new single is the latest offering from their upcoming album.

“Lately I have been writing with two different perspectives. This is for the ones out there that continue their pursuit chasing the wrong toxic people. Time and time again they find themselves in the same negative position. The lyrics in the verses are trying to capture that moment of struggle and realization. It’s for the ones that are trying to break that cycle and want to do better.”

Formed six years ago, Haast Hunter are three kindred spirits seeking solace in music in the ever-changing rhythms of life. Their sound intertwines atmospheric melodies, thick and raw 90’s drenched guitar riffs, and soul-stirring lyrics. Their music seeks to unlock emotions that weave through the depths of despair, the varying heights of euphoria, and everything in between.

Haast Hunter debuted earlier this year and have not taken their foot off the gas for a moment. Their recently release single ‘Sunshine’ has amassed almost 200k streams on Spotify, whilst gaining traction via HEAVY MagThe PartaeAMNplifyThe Rock Pit and many more. The single has also received airplay on over 50 radio stations worldwide.

New single ‘Serpent Seeker’ is available on all major online stores and streaming services.

Clare Siobhan (pronounced “shuh-VON”) is a genre-blending East Coast artist with a voice beyond her years. With her distinctive, rich alto voice, she paints pictures of love and loss, hope and fear, stillness and change through her deeply personal and introspective lyrics. Siobhan’s music is a folk-pop-soul exploration of movement, growth, and light.

On the focus track “I Built a House With an Arsonist,” Siobhan wrote the song as a playful exploration of bad habits and wearing her rose-coloured glasses in her personal life. A snippet of the song was released on TikTok before it was finished, and fans found that it was really relatable if they were experiencing challenging situations in their lives: breakups, divorces, difficult relationships, and feelings of personal betrayal from loved ones.

With the fan input in consideration, Siobhan finished the song with a certain story in mind. Despite the consequences of giving the benefit of the doubt to certain people, she says, “I wouldn’t change my habits now. Even if it comes with a little risk, I do think that being a persistent optimist, and trying to always see the good in others, is a worthwhile worldview.”

Terra Lightfoot, the Haliburton, Ontario-based JUNO and Polaris Prize-nominated singer-songwriter has a bright, bold new pop-rock album to share with the world entitled Healing Power.

Lightfoot was struck by a sense of personal and creative freedom while writing the record, one that finds her collaborating with trusted producer Gus van Go to share songs about perseverance, along with the continual growth and change that is required to lead a fulfilling life.

Healing Power features the synth inflected rocking anthem that is “Come Back Around,” a song which Terra wrote in the Ontario Place parking lot on the shores of Lake Ontario on the same day as fellow album track, “Need You Tonight.”
