Georgia Fields debut album review

Georgia Fields – Georgia Fields (Popboomerang Records/MGM)

It’s here finally, the debut album for rising Melbourne singer songwriter Georgia Fields and it’s really good. So all the songs you know from her set are here. If you never seen her play then this album is the place to start and your in for a treat. It is a well produced, well sung and well performed by the band. It’s at times dark and moody with such songs as Cold War, then bold and brash with All The King’s Men, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Satellite. The one thing I liked about the album that it isn’t slickly produced, it has some what off an organic natural feel to it. Plus the male & female backing vocals is a real nice touch. This is a strong debut release for Georgia, she should be very proud as you can tell it is a real labour of love. I think if you love discovering new artists and appreciate good music then this is for you. Quite frankly this is one of the strongest releases of the year and also for a debut album. Top Stuff.
