Dawn Interview

Photo by Burdick Imaging provided by Dawn

Dawn is a model I came across online, liked what she was doing. She agreed to an interview, so please read on.

1. Why did you decide to become a model?

It’s been a dream of mine since I was young, and when
I finally hit the teenage years, I started looking for
work.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get too involved with
it till the last 4 years or so, but it’s been great
since!

2. How did you get involved with 93X and there Hot
Chick Of The Day thing?

I was going up to Minneapolis for a photoshoot and put
a travel notice up on www.onemodelplace.com.  Since
the station is located in Minneapolis, they recieved
the notice, saw my pictures, and asked me if I’d like
to be featured as the Hot Chick of the Day.

3. Has that opened doors for your modelling career?

Not really that I know of…but hopefully any
publicity I can get will help in the long run!

4. How did you become a Bacardi Girl?

I was hired by another angency to work as a Bacardi
Girl for their national tour in Madison, WI a few
years ago.  There were also local Bacardi Girls
working that night, so I met their manager and
continued doing work for them after the tour left
town.

5. Has that opened up a lot of doors?

I wouldn’t necessarily say it opened doors, but it’s
definitely given me a lot of experience in the
promotional modeling world.

6. Has Onemodelplace helped you get modelling job?

Definitely!  I get emails from people on there all the
time asking to work with me.  A lot of times, they’re
looking for something I’m not interested or
comfortable doing…but there are also some really
great jobs I’ve been offered through there!

7. Do you think it is a good tool?

I think it’s great…for both beginner and advanced
models.  It’s an outstanding networking tool.

8. Who would you most like to work with?

Living and working in the midwest can be difficult at
times.  There isn’t as much work as what there is in
the big cities, and there aren’t as many experienced
talent.  I would love to go out to New York or L.A.
for a few weeks and work with some of the top models
and photographers.  I know I still have so much to
learn, I think that would help me a lot!

9. Which models do you look up to?

I love Heidi Klum!!  I think she’s the best…and I’m
an huge fan of her show, Project Runway!

10. Have you had any bad feedback?

I honestly can’t really think of any off hand.
Constructive criticism, maybe.  But that’s fine, since
it just makes me a better model.

11. Which Magazine would you most like to be on the
cover for?

It’s a toss up between Cosmopolitan or Playboy (though
if I did playboy, I’d prefer to be centerfold)! 🙂

12. What kinda shoot would most not do?

I’m pretty open to all type of photography.  I’m okay
with nudity, but I won’t let it push to the limits of
pornography.

13. If you could be in a music video who’s would it
be?

Hmm…Well, I’m really into country right now, so I’d
be happy with Tim McGraw or Kenny Chesney.  Hotties!
🙂

14. Who has helped you out the most?

My photographer and friend, Dave Burdick (Burdick
Imaging).  He’s helped me build my portfolio, submit
my pics to magazines, and always been there for advice
and support.  Thanks a bunch!

15. Do you think the Internet has helped you get Jobs?

It internet is THE place to be nowdays.  So much is
done electronically now and not being online would
seriously a model’s success.  I know that it’s
definitely helped me…I don’t know where I’d be
without it!

16. What is on your stereo at the moment?

It’s either country or rock…Depends on my mood.

17. What are some of your favourite musicial
artists/bands?

James Blunt, Jack Johnson, LaCuna coil, Fly Leaf,
Gretchen Wilson, Garbage, Staind, Tim McGraw, 3 Doors
Down….A little of everything!

18. What movies you have seen lately you have really
enjoyed?

Wow…I haven’t seen any new movies for a long time!
Some favorites though are Two Weeks Notice, Finding
Nemo, and Zoolander.

19. Would you ever like to host a show?

I think that would be really cool.  You’d get to meet
so many interesting people and hopefully be able to
use the chance to make a difference in some people’s
lives.

20. Would you like to get into acting?

I’m actually just starting to dabble in that right
now.  It’s been on my mind, but I’ve never considered
myself much of an actress.  I guess only time will
tell!
