Daniel Lee Kendall Talk The Night Away EP Review

Daniel Lee Kendall – Talk The Night Away (Red Cat
Sounds/MGM)

Now if you haven’t heard of Daniel Lee Kendall you will very
soon. He one of the bright young stars of the Aussie Music Scene and this
latest EP from him shows why. He is a singer songwriter but he is a little
different something special and his music really captures it. It starts off
with I think is probably one of the best songs out come out of Australia this
year Hold Me Now, a delightful catchy pop tune that will leave a smile on your
face. It’s a radio hit in the making. My Love To Be has a real country poppy
folk feel. The use of backing female vocals really works with the track. My
Soul The Colosseum has a real Jamiroquai feel to it, a little trip pop to it. Gone
is basically Daniel and the guitar and shows off why he doing what he does and
a winner of a track. Last track Never Changing sounds like the John Butler Trio
and good way to finish off the EP. Daniel is a very talented artist, he has
such good, wonderful tunes and the variety in styles is something special. Oh a
big mention about the artwork, it’s incredible, nice to see an artist take
pride in what they are putting out and do something special with the packaging.
Would this be one of the best EP’s by an Aussie artist this year?   You
Bet.  Just hear Hold Me Now and you’ll
know why.
