1. What made you want to get into acting?

The first time I was on stage when I was 4 years old, I
knew I never wanted to do anything else! Ballet &
Acting were pretty much equal for me until I was about 13
and decided to pursue acting only. I love creating
characters, and studying people to base characters off. I
love seeing a story come to life though film or theater.
And I love getting to be lots of different people! It must
be the schizophrenic in me 😉

2. Who were your idols growing up?

Well as a kid I loved Madonna and Michael Jackson- I knew
every word to ‘Bad’ and “The Immaculate
Collection’. Kate Winslet made an impact on me in
Peter Jackson’s “Heavenly Creatures”, and
I very much looked up to her. And I always thought my mum
was pretty cool J

3. What is it like working on stage compared to
screen?

Stage and screen are very different mediums. On stage you
act with every part of your being. There is the in depth
rehearsal process which allows so much more character
development than TV, topped off with the thrill of
performing live! Oh and there is nothing like that applause
to fill you full of joy. Or the long embarrassing silences
when something goes wrong! Screen is very different-
whereas on stage you have to act larger than life, on
screen you almost act smaller than life. You have the
camera focused on you seeing your every move and
_expression which allows many more subtleties. Film and TV
are slightly surreal mediums for me; I feel I can loose
myself in the character a lot more.

4. Would you ever consider going overseas to get
work?

Yes I’ve worked overseas in NZ & the UK . I would
happily go anywhere

5. If you could work with any body who would it
be?

JOHNNY DEPP!!!!

6. What have been some of your favorite roles to
play?

Hmm…. Helena from A Midsummer Nights Dream and
Cheryl from Sleeper Cell

7. What are some of your favorite movies?

The Labyrinth, Heavenly Creatures, Lord of The Rings
trilogy, Pulp Fiction, The Red Violin, The Muppets, Crash,
Butterfly Kiss, Romper Stomper, Closer, The Man on The
Moon, Romeo & Juliet, Amelie, Y tu mamá
también, Peaches, The Piano, True Romance, Eternal
Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Napoleon Dynamite, Fight
Club

8. What movies you have seen lately you have really
enjoyed?

I loved The Break Up- it was very surprising. I was
expecting a dumb chick flick and previously hated Jennifer
Aniston. But I thought she did a great job as did Vince
Vaughn. The film had a lot of truth in it, which was nice
and unexpected. I also just saw ‘Talladega
Nights”- gold!

9. Have you had any bad experiences yet?

Yes! Hmmm where to begin, I guess having an acting agent in
London try to talk me into having very kinky sex with him,
so I could be on his books!! He was a reputable agent as
well, I was very shocked! And creeped out…

10. What kinda role would you most like to
play?

Something ‘meaty’. The more layered and bizarre
the character, the better

11. What are your thoughts on studio remaking
movies?

Not too many thoughts on it… except the originals
are always the best. Just as the book is always better than
the movie. Although there are exceptions to both of those
rules… lord of the rings for
instance….hmmm

12. What are your favorite genre of movies

That really depends….. I always get the most excited
about local films, and try to watch as many Australian/NZ
movies as I can…. But genres, I guess arthouse,
comedy or family movies with my son!

13. Who have you enjoyed working with the
most?

My very lovely partner- comedian, actor & writer Judas
Falling

14. Would you like to do TV work or film work
more?

Film

15. What your view on realty TV? Good Or Bad?

Bad! Although I think it’s starting to come full
circle, there are now sitcom’s parodying reality TV!
It’s a crazy world out there and I still get shocked
and the crap that makes prime time TV year after year

16. What have you got lined up next?

I’m shooting a horror feature in 2 weeks, have a lead in a
feature lined up for 2007, and shooting a sit-com next
year

17. What’s in your stereo at the moment?

Umm…. Either The Wiggles, PJ Harvey or The Genuine
Hoots of Joy (those 3 artist get high rotation in this
house)

18. What are some of your favorite music
artists/bands?

The Genuine Hoots of Joy! PJ Harvey, Janes Addiction,
Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Herd, Shihad, Jeff
Buckley, Michael Franti, System of a Down, Birdie Blackman,
Beck, The Clash, The Ramones, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Jean
Grae, Hilltop Hoods, TZU, Electric Six, Tori Amos,
Tenacious D, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Guns
& Roses, Joni Mitchell, Pink Floyd, Bad Religion, Nine
Inch Nails, David Bowie, The Cure, Astrix, Salmonella Dub,
Fat Freddys Drop, Gorrilaz, Beth Orton, The Chemical
Brothers, Something for Kate, Ben Harper, LAMB, The
Deftones, Jeff Buckley, Beck, Chilli Peppers,
Peaches…

19. What do you enjoy doing when not acting?

Spending time with my son and my partner, reading, writing,
cooking, playing poker, eating chocolate, watching movies,
teaching myself web design, dancing around the house with
my 2 year old and jumping on the bed

20. How did you get involved with Dolphin
Juice?

I auditioned for their live shows about 3 ½ years
ago, and the rest, they say, is history! They have
supported me though everything that’s gone on in my
life over the last few years, and always offered me work.
They are a talented bunch of guys and have become very good
friends
