The Midnight & Danielle Deckard new music.

Two of my favourite artists The Midnight & Danielle Deckard have released new music. The Midnight have a new EP out called Horror Show and Danielle Deckard has a new song out called So Long which is the first song of her up coming second album.

This is what Danielle Deckard had to say about her new song So Lost.

This album has been about 2 years in the making. I am nervous, relieved, but mostly excited to be getting this music to your ears.

This first song — ‘SO LOST’ — was the first piece of music I wrote for the album, before I really knew what it was going to turn into. Calling it a ‘song’ might be a bit of a stretch. Coming in at only 2 minutes and 30 seconds, I wrote ‘SO LOST’ more as an introduction to a larger piece of work rather than a standalone single. It’s kind of a sample of what’s to come in the next 14 tracks. (Yeah I know, long album…)

Because I wrote it so early in the process, I managed to completely forget it existed. It wasn’t until my last day recording final vocals in the studio that it popped into my head. I brought up the demo, and even after all the evolution of the rest of the album, this song still sounded like the perfect introduction.

Because it was finalised so late in the process, ‘SO LOST’ is one of the only tracks on the album that doesn’t feature my band, and exists pretty close to the original demo that I recorded in my bedroom 2 years ago.
