Forever Halloween is the newest album by The Maine and it‘s a good album, if you liked The Maine and already a fan you will be getting any way. But if your not a fan this is an album worth checking out. This album is self funded and the band decided to record live thru analog tape and what they have achieved here is cool. Take What You Can Carry starts off the album with kind of anthem song with handclaps, solid melodies and vocals and good musicianship. It‘s one of those songs that open slow and soft then launches into the band is. It‘s a good way to get the album going. Love & Drugs is an awesome song, love the way how it just opens and the cool vibe going for it. It‘s an extremely catchy song, good melodies, solid musicianship, excellent vocals, one of my picks off the album. Run is another solid song, it‘s kind of got a rock‘n‘roll vibe going for it. I kind of get hints of The Killers in this song. It‘s a well written song, good musicianship, vocals and lyrics. Happy has a pop edge to it, it‘s a kind of upbeat song, White Walls is another pick off me, I love the use of the keyboard, the way the song is structured, the way the vocals are sung, it‘s kind of the ballady type track off the album, it‘s just a song that is well written and shows off the band can mix it up and add something fresh and different to the album. Birthday In Los Angeles is also different it‘s one of the ballads on the album, the use of the acoustic guitar. The way it‘s performed, the use of the lap steel, it‘s a different pace of tune and good to split the album up this way. Blood Red has kind of dark edge tune mixed with a pop vibe, it‘s a catchy tune, well written, performed and sung. Love the use of the piano. Sad Songs is another straight forward song, it‘s well written performed and sung. Kennedy Curse is another pick off the album for me, I love the use of the guitar on the song, it‘s got some great vocals and lyrics, it‘s a well written and performed song. These Four Words is another good tune, love the use of the piano, solid vocals and great lyrics, it‘s a solid song, it‘s another ballad song, It‘s a well written tune, The band has so many different layers to this album, they keep surprising you with each tune. Fucked Up Kids is a good tune, reminds me off The Killers,, catchy well written and the use of the piano works. Forever Halloween is the title track, and it‘s good, it‘s a little slower but still has good vocals, musicianship and finishes off the album well, oh and I love the use of the backing vocals. There are some good songs on this album, I think the band have put out a good album here, I think it will gain them some new fans as well as keeping the old ones happy. I say check it out.
