The Beautiful Burn are a fantastic band from Melbourne.

After hearing some tunes I was hooked .

Read the interview and expect to here more from this band.

The Beautiful Burn Website

1. How did you get into music?

I got an acoustic guitar when I was 12 (which I broke accidentally last week)

2. Who were your idols growing up?

No idols….. loved the beach boys, the Beatles, led zep Queen & Hendrix, standard classics….

3. Who were your influences?

Late high school Evay (TBB keyboards & producer) started getting me into electronic stuff like Ministry, Skinny Puppy, KMFDM and thats where we started off….. As loud and abrasive as possible.

4. Are you happy with the responses with the music on your website?

Sure, people are very polite:-)

5. What has been your favorite gig to date?

In this band? probably the next time we play Revolver… March 17th! Supporting Alaska Ratio’s EP launch… come down

6. Have you had much response from labels?

No not really

8. Has the band had much response from radio?

Nah, don’t think so… we haven’t really sent anything to radio though so there lies the first problem

9. Do you the Internet has helped bands get noticed by labels and industry people?

I guess so, you hear success stories….. Everyones got a myspace so its probably come full circle and made the whole thing redundant again.

I just moved to Melbourne from NZ so i’ll only be moving if its cos Ive run outta money or get too bored. Planning to get back to tour NZ in January next year providing we have something recorded to promote, otherwise its a waste of time

11. What is on your stereo at the moment?

As tall as Lions: Self Titled (new fav)… Beatles: Abbey Road (old fav) …. Minus The Bear: Highly Refined Pirates (fav fav)… Meshuggah:I EP

12. What are some of your favorite musical artists/bands?

Minus The Bear, The Mars Volta, King Crimson, The Beatles, Jeff Buckley, Queen, Jamiroquai, Mr Bungle

13. Are you happy how the band has gone so far?

Apart from last night? sure. Playing musics fun, fun makes you happy… any other reasons to do it?

14. Any releases in the pipeline?

Yep, gonna do our first recording for release mid year…….

15. What inspires the band when writing music?

Late night tom-foolery, bad disco clothes, astronomy, sleep deprivation and starvation

16. What has been the highlight so far?

This mornings migraine was a super happy fun time

17. What is next for the band?

Rehearsal on Sunday
