Psychedelic garage rockers Splashh are hitting our shores in June and taking over stages in Melbourne and Sydney on this super short and sweet tour. The London-via Australia-via-New Zealand four piece will be joined by Children Collide front man Johnny Mackay, in his newest project – Fascinator. All parts electronic-psychadelia, synths, acid tabs, samples and beats, Fascinator is a perfect wall of noise on a cosmic bender.
Before joining the Splashh guys on tour Fascinator will be bringing his vivid sounds back home playing Mona?s Dark Mofo festival, with the likes of The Drones, The Presets and Martha Wainwright. In anticipation of his new mini album Birth/Earth to be release late June, Lord Fascinator will be releasing a series of prismatic film clips, think blissed out, kaleidoscopes, bikinis, and Dune Rats.
Splashh in the mean time have been making a name for themselves worldwide, with critical acclaim from NME, The Guardian and BBC 6music. Announced as supports for the massive Rolling Stones Hyde Park show, as well as supporting Splendor darlings Palma Violets, playing Field Days and Liverpool Soundcity in the UK. Distorted grooves, dreamy nostalgia and layers of 90?s-esk riffs is a just a taste of whats to come from their debt album Comfort due out June 7th. Live, expect the jangle of scuzzy guitars, slacker vibes, unfazed chaos, scratchy echoed vocals and catchy tunes, leaving you reminiscing about summers past.
If the hype is anything to go by, Splashh and Fascinator are definitely both ones to watch this year.
