It’s here! The 2014 PUSH OVER Festival announcement. In it’s 22nd year Melbourne’s favourite all ages music festival is set for one huge Labour Day,
Monday March 10th, at Sidney Myer Music Bowl. And here is what’s in store for you….
A solid serving of Australia’s finest Hip Hop dished up by recently crowned triple j Unearthed Artist of the Year REMI.
Along with ALL DAY, whose latest single ‘Claude Monet’ has just been added to high rotation at triple j, friend and some time collaborator BAM BAM and the Ghana born CITIZEN KAY.
Bringing his soul searching honesty and gritty melody to the line up is PEZ and ‘The Festival Song’ that reached an unprecedented #7 in the triple j Hottest 100 of 2009.
Rounding out the Hip Hop contingent is CHANCE WATERS – the Sydney MC landed two songs in the 2012 triple j Hottest 100 with ‘Maybe Tomorrow’ in at #89 and ‘Young & Dumb’ at #45.
Nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock Album and taking out Blunt Magazine’s Album of the Year, Melbourne punk rock six piece DREAM ON DREAMER
ascend on Push Over having just toured the US, Europe, Asia and New Zealand.
Also no strangers to OS touring, Brisbane’s CUB SPORT (formerly Cub Scouts) recently played New York’s illustrious CMJ music conference as well as US and European tour dates,
they join PUSH OVER along with four piece DEEZ NUTS. Forming in 2007, DEEZ NUTS latest album ‘Bout It’ debuted at #35 on the ARIA Album Chart and they are currently on tour in Europe.
With bands trekking in from all around this large flat land PUSH OVER will be home to Byron Bay bred metal-core five piece IN HEARTS WAKE who’ve just released latest single ‘Skydance’,
Sydney’s BURIED IN VERONA and from South Australia’s Mount Gambier, SIERRA, bring passion-fuelled melodic hard-core with meaning.
Tasmania’s raucous melodic punk LUCA BRASI bring fun, recklessness and the youthful enthusiasm they pride themselves on.
While from Perth comes death-core band MAKE THEM SUFFER and melodic hard-core metal act SAVIOUR set to blow you away with heavy unharnessed emotion.
From Melbourne we have OUTRIGHT; psychedelic party reggae ska doom metal punk rock from hell THE BENNIES and headed up by the indomitable Wil Wagner,
THE SMITH STREET BAND who are known for their hard hitting yet simple punk aesthetic and direct immediate lyricism, don’t miss it as they unleash at Push Over.
Also on the epic bill are nine of the freshest young bands from across Victoria that will share the stage in the FReeZA Push Start Grand Final.
As always the highly anticipated Push Underground Hip Hop Showcase will be taking place on the day featuring 35 Push It! Hip Hop break dancers, MCs and artists performing in battle and showcase events. As well as the always fabulous food court and a chance for you to meet your favourite bands at the artist signing area.
