ODYSAYH Interview

ODYSAYH is a talent music artist who I came across hearing his awesome song Highway 707. Knew an interview was a must. This is what he says.

1. How did ODYSAYH come about?

It’s not super interesting but I’ve always wanted to do something with music since my father was a musician himself. I knew I wanted to release some stuff just not fully under my own name. So the stage name ODYSAYH along with the logo is something I came up with in a graphic design class back in 2017.

I knew I wanted to create electronic music and synthwave is where I kinda found my footing in and enjoyment in.

In short, I owe a lot to my father for the inspiration he has given to do music.

2. Are you happy with the response to your music?

I am! It has been way better than I thought it would be.

3. How does a song start for you?

It’s different from track to track… Sometimes I want to create a song from a “vibe” or something that way.

4. How important are sites like newretrowave to what you’re doing?

I’d say very important. Even if I haven’t done a lot of synthwave stuff recently it’s still a great place to reach out to a larger audience on.

5. If you could play with anybody, who would it be?

Hah that’s a difficult decision… I have some artists I look up to but they are probably way above me in skill so it wouldn’t be as fun hahah.

6. If you could create the ultimate video clip what would it be about?

I would love to someday be able to make an album that also has a whole animation and story to it with every song.

7. How important is social media to you?

It’s not to important to me personally. It’s a fun thing to do but I don’t really use it to market myself a lot. If anything, I mostly use Discord and Twitch these days if I wanna chat and connect.

8. Do you write out of inspiration or when it comes to you?

Both I’d say. Sometimes inspiration hits hard and I can sit all day and night other times I might have to just sit and play around with ideas.

9. What next for you?

Next for me is to finish my second album. Whenever that’ll be I don’t know but it is in the works hahah.
