The Vaniers [van-ee-ays] are a Toronto-based rock trio formed in 2016 by Diego Paz (Bass Guitar/Vocals), Alex Iacobellis (Guitar), and Nick Donato (Drums). Known for delivering scorching live performances and dazzling crowds, The Vaniers have become a staple in the Toronto music scene, celebrated for their high-octane shows and catchy tunes.

Their song “This Dog” has been brewing for over a decade (don’t ask us its age in dog years). Dubbed “The Forbidden Tune,” it seemed impossible for The Vaniers to crack. One night, while the band was experimenting with a Motown-inspired rhythm over a rolling guitar riff loaded with double-stops, “This Dog” finally found its groove in the chorus.

Produced and mixed by Nixon Boyd (Hollerado, Dizzy, Deanna Petcoff), the song embodies a fusion of their diverse influences. The challenge of maintaining taste, accessibility, and sincerity propelled them to craft one of their favorite tracks on the album. As for the lyrics, ask your dogs.

A Short Walk to Pluto has developed a tremendous social media presence through TikTok and Instagram, where they regularly debut original music and covers of well-known classics. It was through that online presence that the quartet was discovered and endorsed by Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show.

The quartet dives headfirst into the whirlwind of change on their new single, “Nothing to Fear. It’s about the bittersweet dance of leaving behind what’s familiar to chase the unknown.

An independent R&B artist and native of Toronto, ON, Lyhz has a musical journey that simultaneously builds on the legacies of African American soul and contemporary R&B-pop styles prevalent in her city. Following early exposure to influences that include gospel, soul, jazz and R&B that developed her sense of identity in music, the songstress creates moments through sound that are experiences in and of themselves.

In an ironic sense, Lyhz’s song “Temporary” is inspired by the positions she often held in jobs, as a temp/contract worker. Outside of her job pursuits, her love life was filled with short term talking stages that never manifested in long term relationships. While in life we have to accept certain people, opportunities and relationships run their course, “Temporary” is a reflection of what many people desire – relations and opportunities that truly last and aren’t just here for a moment.

Based in Victoria, BC, Jesse Roper is a blues/Americana artist with a penchant for writing modern indie-infused blues music and delivering bombastic live performances buoyed by his virtuosic guitar playing. His innate and impressive musical talent has served him well, giving him the flexibility to play with soul icon Booker T. Jones, rock veteran Colin James, blues belter Beth Hart, and Canadian legend Burton Cummings.

Way Down In The Valley” is a song about the house that Jesse lives in. It started out as a classic rock song and evolved into a funky, soulful tune with the help of JUNO-nominated producer, Gus van Go (Metric, Arkells, Sam Roberts, Whitehorse).

Toronto act The Neighbourhood Watch create a story-driven blend of folk and indie rock that has culminated in millions of streams and strong recognition from outlets such as Exclaim! and Indie88. The band is now ready to release their fourth album: a meditation on family, illness, and loving what life gives you nonetheless.

New single, “Lifeline,” is a reflection on vocalist/guitarist Tristan Surman’s experience with a chronic auto-immune disease that really wreaked havoc on his life between 2021-2022. Because of the illness, Surman had to give up a lot of who he thought he was going to be. He had to accept that this was going to be with him for the rest of his life. He had to dance with the disease rather than push it out.

Loud, fast, and catchy, Perfect Strangers deliver modern hard rock with classic implementations. Their live shows are energetic and packed with roaring sounds, just like their brand new album, Social Decay. Focus track “Tear Me Apart” offers an adrenaline rush, spotlighting the band at their very best.

As a bystander, lead vocalist and guitarist Anthony Vitanza saw alcohol being abused and observed that “it’s all fun and games from their perspective but to everyone else it’s a real drag.” The ever-growing drinking problem of the song’s protagonist starts to tear them apart.

Swaying between the punchiness of modern rock and the nostalgic tones of ’90s alternative, June Body‘s rawness and forthright lyrical delivery throws back to the likes of Death Cab for Cutie and The Weakerthans.

“Take Our Time Back” is the latest single from the trio’s third album, Last Everythings (June 7, 2024); a snow globe of the scenes before, during, and after a breakup. It is a venture into the subtle, heartbreaking domestic details of an ending.

“I ended a year-long relationship that I realized I wasn’t ready to be in from the start,” lead vocalist/guitarist Connor James elaborates about the new track. “I fell in love with a great person, but a voice in the back of my mind kept telling me it wasn’t meant to be. ‘Take Our Time Back’ is about the guilt of having to break their heart, and wondering if they’re wishing they could take back the time we had together.”

Newcastle based singer/songwriter Jesse Morrison has just released his brilliant debut EP ‘Tyrrell St’, which premiered recently via The AU Review. The EP is a collection of introspective tracks that are completely intoxicating from start to end.

Jesse debuted in 2020 with the release of his single called ‘State Of Uncertainty’. He has since followed up with the release of 4 more singles, whist landing airplay and interviews around the country on stations such as Triple M.

Throughout the years, Jesse Morrison has become a known as a main staple amongst the local music scenes, employing lyrics that are both personal and relatable.

The young troubadour recently entered the studio to work on his debut EP called ‘Tyrrell St’, which he is now ready to unveil to the world.

‘Tyrrell St’ is available on all major online stores and streaming services.

Micah possesses talent that can only spawn from years of dedicated practice. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Micah began by playing harmonic with his dad, Kenny Neal, a professional blues musician. At eight years old, he became part of a children’s choir, which allowed him to experience performing in front of an audience. Shortly thereafter, Micah joined an after-school music program, for which he performed at venues across the country, including Carnegie Hall.

Now splitting his time between Salt Lake City and L.A., Micah has grown into a highly respected singer, songwriter, musician and actor. He has worked and played with the likes of Neon Trees, James Valentine (Maroon 5), Steve Smith (Journey), and Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band). It also bears mentioning that Micah won four Downbeat Magazine awards all before graduating high school. He’s also appeared on the hit Disney TV show, Andi Mack. Micah seamlessly blends elements of pop, funk, and hip-hop into his high-energy, crowd-pleasing performances.

Micah’s latest track “Brand New” is a pulsing, glittery single with a get up and move tempo.  Touching on heartache, infidelity and longing.

“Brand New” is the perfect song to listen to at 1:00AM in the car on a summer’s night with the windows down. It will remind you of a sad night and might fill your soul with melancholy. While the song plucks at your heart strings, it still keeps a glimpse of hope that will be passed on to the fans.”
