| 2RU |MELBOURNE BASED INDIE ROCKERS RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘THE FIXER’

Narrm (Melbourne, Australia) based Indie Rockers 2RU have just unleashed their new single ‘The Fixer’, which was premiered via AAA Backstage

“The Fixer is a perhaps simplistic and tongue-in-cheek assessment of the string pullers, spin doctors and ‘fixers’ that work behind the scenes getting people to do what they need. Whilst we tend to get angry at politicians or ‘faces’, the reality is that there’s a lot of corruption beneath the surface, that if not addressed, threatens to further derail and undermine any semblance of democracy.”

2RU take experimental, psychedelic and progressive rock tendencies; and injects a more direct and assertive songwriting approach inspired by the early work of TheWho, with some subtle 90s alt rock vibes (TheCardigansRegurgitator) for good measure.

2RU debuted in 2020 with the release of their single ‘Cool’ and have since dropped multiple releases and have introduced their sound to live audiences in Melbourne venues. They have secured airplay all across Australia and are slowly becoming one of Melbourne’s live music staples.

The band have been recording and refining material all year for release over the coming months.

New single ‘The Fixer’ is available on all major online stores and streaming services.

Mixed-race musicians Brava Kilo & Annie Sumi are tracing their histories through Kintsugi, a new anti-racist, interactive, multi-disciplinary art installation which reflects on racial identity, healing ancestral trauma, and the fragmented history of the Japanese Canadian internment.

The duo are sharing “Chattels,” taken from the collaborative Kintsugi EP, inspired by archival documentation which listed their ancestors’ belongings that were confiscated and auctioned off during that period of time. This song acknowledges the impact of stolen heirlooms and the process of healing ancestral trauma.

The experimental track combines spoken word over playful beats, melodies, and rhythms, juxtaposing the weight of the lyrical content, which lists items from the collection of Kilo and Sumi’s lost family heirlooms which were auctioned.

| AMONG THE RUINED |BRISBANE BASED METALCORE OUTFIT RELEASE NEW SINGLE + VIDEO ‘COMMON CREATURE’  + ANNOUNCE UPCOMING ALBUM RELEASE
Brisbane based metalcore lords Among The Ruined have just released their new single and music video Common Creature, which was premiered via
HEAVY Mag.

Common Creature is the title track from their forthcoming album. The album was completely self-produced and was mixed by Justin Aufdemkampe
(Miss May I).
“Lyrically Common Creature talks about the deepest state of depression Paddy has personally experienced. Depression is the common creature that lives within a lot of people, yet there doesn’t seem to be much communication about it with a lot of people holding it in and keeping it hidden. It expresses the guilt and shame he’s felt being someone that he hates. Sinking deeper into this hole feeling like no one could care less, just to brush it off and say it’s not a big deal.“

The band recently released their single The Road, which was premiered via Hysteria Mag. The single was aired on over 100 radio stations worldwide and gave fans the first taste from their upcoming album release. The boys successfully toured the single in venues across Queensland.

New single Common Creature is available on all major online stores and streaming services.

Swallowed by OCD for the better part of a decade, it was in the solitude of the pandemic that Marc Apollonio discovered himself again. Years had disappeared into the mental disorder and his marriage broke up… but there he was, in a city silenced by COVID-19, starting to return to himself. He was privileged and fortunate: unlike many people, the pandemic brought more, rather than less free time. With the seclusion, his mind regained, he began working on new music.

The best artists are ones that are able to render diverse and complex themes into a few incredible minutes of words, melody and rhythm. apollonio’s hope is to bring the same truth to his music. In collaboration with producer Mark Andrade and musicians Gary Pereira, Stephen O’Brien, the aptly titled single “OCD” captures the confusion and frustration of his experience. As well, the relief of getting past it with lots of help, effort and meds.

Vicki Lovelee is a Chinese-Canadian alt-pop singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Toronto. She uses orchestral instrumentation and fuses them with dramatic, pop elements; ultimately creating a dark and theatrical sound. Her music and style embodies a combination of fierce yet vulnerable; having eccentric elements like Lady Gaga and lush instrumentations like Lana Del Rey.

New song, “Guilty,” is about feeling guilty for walking away from someone. There were many times in Vicki‘s life when she had to walk away from someone or stand up for herself because they were toxic, but still felt really bad after doing that. They were in the wrong yet she was the one left with the guilt.

This could apply to any relationship, whether it’s between friends, family members, or romantic interests. Writing this song was a reminder to Vicki that even though she may feel this way, she ultimately needs to do what’s best for herself.

Castle Frank is a Toronto based recording artist. The brainchild of Max Bergé, his sound combines buzzing synths and heavy drum machines with singer-songwriter influences, skittering the edges between indie rock and synth pop.

New single, “Just Kids,” was inspired by his experience using online casual dating apps. Bergé came to the realization that you don’t need to fill a void in yourself by finding validation from others. He wanted the song to be self aware, but still keep the overall vibe lighthearted and fun. The production represents that feeling with its mid tempo dance beat and bright and buzzy synths.

The song was co-written with Nixon Boyd, a Toronto producer and one of the principal songwriters in Hollerado. When Bergé and Boyd wrote this song, Bergé was living inside the back closet of the guitar shop he worked in and the vocals were recorded in the basement of that store.
