Melbourne based Garage Rockers TV Dinners have just released their insanely catchy new single ‘Running On You’, which was premiered via AAA Backstage.
Since their humble beginnings in a Frankston bedroom in 2016, TV Dinners have shared the stage with many epic bands such as Jeff Rosenstock (USA), Lime Cordiale,Slowly Slowly, Bleeding Knees Club, and The Hard Aches.
Their latest EP ‘Exit the 6th Chamber’ featured three songs recorded from the discomfort of their own homes – during Melbourne’s infamous lockdowns.
The band recently teamed up with producer Alex Moses (Columbus) to record their irresistibly catchy and earnest new single, which is about trying to change your ways – but you’re still stuck upsetting the other person.
New single ‘Running On You’ is available on all major online stores and streaming services.
KT Laine is a study in subtlety. Her songs radiate a positively warm glow, sweetly burnished and unhurried. And while her performances make them seem effortless, they are also finely constructed pieces that recall certain like-minded contemporary singer-songwriters (Angel Olsen, Cate Le Bon, Big Thief) as much as ’60s and ’70s legends like Linda Perhacs, Sybille Baier, and Judee Sill.
Laine‘s vocals hit a sweet spot between laid-back and longing, exhibiting a depth that is rare for someone releasing their debut album. On full-length Knock Knee, forthcoming on Victory Pool Records, her combination of the cool, refined delivery and deeply introspective lyrical content makes these songs worth coming back to again and again.
Feeling restless and uncertain, “Again” was written when her partner at the time had just left for tour and Laine began to process the possibilities of ending the relationship. “At times I was grateful for that distance, and other times I really did mind that it was such a long way home. This song is a double edged sword in that way,” the artist elaborates.
“Again” was recorded on a vintage Tascam 388 tape machine with drummer Eli Browning (Aidan Knight, Ghost Woman), one of Laine‘s key collaborators.
Newcastle based Pop artist Horby has just released his epic new single ‘Sing Like Hell’, which was premiered exclusively via Scenestr. The brilliant new single encourages you to follow your dreams, no matter what expectations are placed upon you.
“Sing Like Hell is really just a song about reflection and coming to own the fact that I’m not really any good at anything else. I guess it’s a song about defeat like the reality of never making it as a musician, but its also kinda hopeful. I was going through a time when all my mates and the people my age around me were getting married and had career jobs and I was just no good at any of that. It really wasn’t good to be holding myself to other peoples ideals and I really felt like I needed to come full circle and do what I believe I do best.”
Horby effortlessly combines a variety of genres to create his unique and catchy brand of Pop music. Mike Horbacz (Horby) has been playing music for years and has amassed a small yet dedicated following from performing countless shows across the country.
The multitalented musician recently stepped into the studio to record a plethora of new tracks to be released under his new moniker ‘Horby’.
If you’re a newcomer to Horby, you’ll realise within moments of hearing his new single ‘Sing Like Hell’ that he is a musical force to be reckoned with. ‘Sing Like Hell’ is a turning point. The vocals absolutely soar and the melody will embed itself into your head instantly.
