Sydney based Punk Rock outfit This Time Only have just released their new single and music video called ‘Mick From The Pub’, which premiered exclusively via The AU Review.
The band have also announced they will be playing a launch show at Oxford Art Factory (Gallery Bar) on March 14 to celebrate the release alongside Tallulah.
“Mick From The Pub drew heavily from Matt’s time working in shitty pubs. It’s about those people everyone knows, the pub regular who’s always got something to say, always got a story, and always seems to be there. On the surface Mick’s funny, loud and full of opinions, but the song is really about what’s sitting underneath that. It’s less about taking the piss and more about looking at that kind of character with a bit of empathy.”
This Time Only are built on sweat, grit, and big hooks. Their songs spit with urgency but land with heart — raw guitars and anthemic choruses set against lyrics that swing between scathing social commentary and lived-in Australian storytelling. Think the unfiltered honesty of The Smith Street Band colliding with the drive of The Menzingers and the punch of The Offspring.
For fans of storytelling as loud as the guitars, This Time Only is the sound of growing up, falling apart, and putting it all back together.
New single ‘Mick From The Pub’ is available on all major online stores and streaming services.

Lebanese-Canadian artist Raphaela returns with “Lose This Race,” a romantic, energetic pop single that captures the moment love sneaks past your defenses and the instant you realize it’s already too late to run. Vivid and cinematic, the track transforms the emotional rush of falling for someone into a high-stakes chase, balancing exhilaration with vulnerability and surrender.
Inspired by the quiet shock of seeing someone familiar in an entirely new light, “Lose This Race” lives in that split second where the body knows before the mind catches up. “In the world of this song, it’s someone you’ve known for a while,” Raphaela explains. “Then one day, you’re sitting together and it’s like a light bulb goes off. The veil drops. You’re seeing them in a completely new light, and you can feel it in your body before your brain catches up. You try to run from it, you try to rationalize it, but it’s too late. You already lost the moment you realized you care.”
Strange Plants lean into heartfelt nostalgia and soaring retro-pop energy on “Lay Your Mind,” an infectious new single that marks the first release in a forthcoming collection of songs arriving throughout 2026.
Drawing inspiration from the new wave and post-punk textures of artists like Simple Minds, The Cure, and The Cars, “Lay Your Mind” blends emotional depth with an undeniable melodic lift. Anchored by a shimmering groove and an instantly singable chorus, the track captures the band’s ability to balance introspection with momentum and create music that feels both personal and expansive.
The song’s origins are as intimate as its message. “Travis (Flint) sent me a voice note of him playing guitar while bathing his infant son,” explains songwriter Matt Brannon. “It was a really cool musical motif that became the basis for the verses.” From that initial spark, the song came together quickly, written and completed during the same period the band’s debut album was being mixed and mastered. In a rare burst of inspiration, “Lay Your Mind” moved from voice note to finished master in less than two weeks.
Adelaide based Electronic Dance outfit ALTEZZA have just released their intoxicating new single called ‘Falling Through’ featuring elsorliy, which premiered exclusively via AAA Backstage.
“Falling Throughis the first track we’ve worked on with a vocalist and co-wrote lyrics for. We’d started working on the instrumental together, and then linked up with Lily (elsorliy) soon after. The writing process was very organic and effortless, and she really saw the vision we had in mind for the track. The lyrics tell an introspective story of someone going down the wrong path and not reaching their potential – a fear that most of us can probably relate to. Whilst the subject matter is deep and contemplative, the instrumental is intimate yet highly danceable. We think of it as ‘emotional dance music’.”
ALTEZZA produce a unique blend of Deep House/Dance Grooves with Psychedelic/ambient textures to form their original brand of dance music.
The duo debuted in 2025 with the release of their single called ‘Fortune’ and quickly followed up with their sophomore single ‘Look Outward’. After a recent stint in the studio, they are now ready to share their new music with the world.
New single ‘Falling Through’ is available on all major online stores and streaming services.
New York’s Scarlett Macfarlane returns with “Winter’s Whisper,” a fun, energetic, and delightfully zany alternative-pop single that invites listeners into a world where fantasy and reality blur. Inspired initially by the image of a magical winter walk, the song quickly evolved into something far more surreal and became a reflection on how life itself often feels stranger than fiction.
“I wrote ‘Winter’s Whisper’ based on just the title and how magical a walk in a winter ‘wonderland’ could be,” Macfarlane explains. “Then words like ‘magic’ and ‘wonderland’ took me down a not-so-proverbial rabbit hole.” Drawing inspiration from Lewis Carroll’s iconic prose, the song shifted perspective, becoming a commentary on the bizarre, confusing, dangerous, and incredible nature of reality itself. “This world, life itself, is filled with fantasy,” she says. “It can be all at once transformed by the cast of characters you encounter throughout your own zany story.”
