North Queensland based Alt/Rock outfit Slippery Gypsy have just released their new single called ‘Stranger’, which premiered exclusively via AAA Backstage.

“This song is about meeting a stranger and instantly feeling something that you can’t explain. One look, one moment, and it just hits. Everything feels familiar even though it shouldn’t.”

Hailing from country towns across Australia, Slippery Gypsy are known for their down-to-earth vibe, unfiltered songwriting, and passionate live shows. Their mix of Rock Grit, Pop sensibilities and musicianship creates a unique style driven by singer Luke’s distinct, powerful vocals.

With six singles already released, the band is now sitting on four unreleased tracks that they believe are a cut above anything they’ve done before. The new material has already caught the attention of industry figures, so the band is carefully holding off on the release to make sure it lands with maximum impact

New single ‘Stranger’ is available on all major online stores and streaming services.

Sydney based singer/songwriter Katy Denney has just released her new single called ‘Bad At This’, which premiered via ABC Countryand The AU Review.

The new single is the first offering from her upcoming EP release, which is set to drop later in 2026.

Katy Denney effortlessly blends elements of Indie, Folk, New Wave and Pop to create her sublime sound. Her music centres around unguarded storytelling and lives in a sonic world of evolving, organic textures all tethered by honest and bare lyrics.

Katy Denney debuted in 2023 with the release of her self-produced single called‘Never Thought I Would Miss You’, which has since amassed over 70k streams on Spotify.

“The first taste of Denney’s forthcoming EP (due later this year), Bad At This  is an intimate and quietly powerful indie-folk offering that leans into vulnerability, emotional precision and the uneasy beauty of being truly seen. Stretching out to nearly five minutes, the track is beautifully paced — never rushed, never indulgent — allowing its emotional weight to unfold with patience and grace.”

Edmonton, AB singer-songwriter Ellie Heath returns with “Too Old (For This Shit),” a witty, uplifting indie pop anthem that leans into the absurdity of aging without ever feeling like a grown-up. Playful yet pointed, the track captures the familiar feeling of being a kid in adult clothes; paying bills, following rules, and quietly wondering when adulthood is supposed to click into place.

“At its core, the song is about aging with humour,” Heath explains. “Feeling like a kid wearing adult clothes, navigating expectations, responsibilities, and the slow realization that nobody ever really tells you when you’ve ‘arrived.’”

Co-written and produced alongside Hawksley Workman and Tristan Konkle of Tapes In Motion, “Too Old (For This Shit)” balances joyful, child-like production with a dry, deadpan vocal delivery that gently pokes fun at the seriousness we’re told to adopt with age. Whistles, chorus layers, and playful textures bring a children’s song sensibility, while a tight rhythm section keeps the track grounded and cool.
