“I wrote Human After All as a reminder that no matter what life throws our way, we always have the power to grow. When we finally break free from those bad habits and take that leap toward the changes, we know we need amazing things start happening! It’s a song to remind us there’s dips in the road as long as you still moving up the hill you got this! At the end of the day, we’re all just Human After All. So, keep grinding, keep growing, and keep believing in yourself.

New Zealand based Heavy Rock outfit Haast Hunter have unleashed their fierce new single and music video called ‘Trial Unknown’, which was premiered exclusively via HEAVY Mag. The new single is taken from their explosive forthcoming album.

The new single was recorded by award-winning producer Scott Seabright and mastered by the legendary Ted Jensen (Post MaloneDeftones,
Bring Me The Horizon).

“Trial Unknown is about dealing with someone who has narcissistic traits. How it can be challenging and emotionally draining. The story takes the listener through the process of establishing boundaries to protect one’s well-being and limit peoples toxic influence on life.”

The band also teamed up with Colin Jeffs of Ten Of Swords (In Hearts Wake, Make Them SufferRedhook) to create the epic music video.

Haast Hunter officially debuted in 2023 and have not taken their foot off the gas for a moment. Their debut single Sunshine’has amassed over 300k streams on Spotify, whilst gaining traction via HEAVY MagThe PartaeAMNplifyThe Rock Pit and many more. The single also received airplay on over 50 radio stations worldwide.

Armed with a new line-up and a cleansed palette, Haast Hunter are ready to share their new sound with the world.

New single ‘Trial Unknown’ is available on all major online stores and streaming services.

Havelin, also known as Alex Zaichkowski, is an acclaimed (unofficially) singer-songwriter (allegedly) whose passion for music began at a young age and will continue until his untimely demise (which will likely come at the hands of some great warrior or foul beast…or, more likely, slipping on a banana peel). The Edmonton-born, Toronto-based Zaichkowski was once described as “a real pleasure” to listen to by Shania Twain (a thing which actually happened, there’s proof). His songs weave rich narratives into pleasant melodies, while his storytelling strives to unpack complex emotions in a way that is both uniquely personal and heart-wrenchingly universal.

His upcoming record, Who Among Us… (release date TBA), deals with themes of life, death, love, heartbreak, and identity. It’s a tribute to feeling intensely and embracing the strangeness and beauty this world has to offer. Havelin’s latest single, the blithely “Dancing At My Funeral,” is all about recontextualizing death. It’s about taking that deep-seated fear that we all have and laughing in its face. We’re all gonna die someday – it’s the most human thing there is.

“Every funeral I’ve ever been to has been a profoundly sad experience, and I don’t want it to be that way when I go,” Alex explains. “I want the people I love to remember the good times and to know how lucky I was to have them in my life. It’s about putting the ‘celebration’ in ‘celebration of life.’”

Featuring a fantastic saxophone solo from Bruce MacKinnon, “Dancing At My Funeral” evokes the evocative, party-like feel of 70s good time, acoustic folk-rock tracks. The song screams “it’s okay to be sad but don’t get hung up on it, focus on the good time” – a message that Havelin always aspires to put out into the world.

Cree Métis artist iskwē | ᐃᐢᑫᐧᐤ (short for waseskwan iskwew, meaning “blue sky woman”) is sharing a new release which reimages a crucial piece of her most recent album, nīna, a 10-song collection of both electronic and sweeping chamber pop which evokes the intense emotions of a turbulent period in her life.

Recorded in Mexico City at Panoram Studios at a point in the pandemic when in-person contact was only beginning to resume, this rendition of nīna album track, “Caught In The Waves,” utilizes an incredible group of musicians and friends to create rich harmonies and a nimble orchestral backdrop to iskwē’s vocals.

Of the song’s themes, the artist shares that “Caught In The Waves” zooms in on the conflicting emotions of a turbulent love affair. Featuring Latin instrumentation including the charango, marimba, and cuatro, this live recording trembles with a delicacy that echoes the vulnerable nature of iskwē‘s past relationship.
