A mysterious mission in the shadows of history – hero or villain? You decide. Building on their bedrock of toe-tapping rhythm and blues, Major Tom & The Atoms have constructed a towering and lasting monument to the fallen angels of rock with their debut album Heroes, Villains, Boom Boom Boom!
Featuring the infectious groove of lead single Confusion, forthcoming album Heroes, Villains, Boom Boom Boom! picks up where the Shake It Til You Break It EP took off (on the dancefloor), and takes the listener deeper on an electrifying safari through a jungle of howlin growlin blues to spy-chedelic junk-yard freakout. Throughout, this intoxicating brew of songs is masterfully infused with The Atoms’ peerless musicianship and Major Tom’s irresistible vocal roar.
These guys are no strangers to the airwaves. ‘Major’ Tom Hartney’s impressive pop pedigree traces back to Little Red, while The Atoms between them have served a life sentence at the coalface of rock. In just two years together, Major Tom & The Atoms have racked up a seriously impressive resume, scoring support slots with international acts like English garage legends The Pretty Things and high-profile TV synchs such as Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year.
Heroes, Villains, Boom Boom Boom! explodes with Major Tom & The Atoms’ trademark live energy and boasts lashings of erudite and profound lyrics – it is a diverse and accomplished suite of songs painted in the comic-book colours of rock and roll.
Heroes, Villains, Boom Boom Boom! is scheduled for release in late October, with national tour to follow in November.
