Devan Shares New Single “Lie”

Indie pop singer-songwriter Devan revealed her debut solo EP, Pink Noise, in February 2021, with an all-star crew of collaborators including Adam Boukis (Timbaland, Saweetie, and Bruno Martini), Quin Kiu (Lil Mosey, J Ember) and Tyler Shamy (Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Taeyeon). Devan set out to create an honest introduction of who she is as an artist and producer, and a commitment to being honest as she reflected on the uncertainty that comes with navigating your 20s.

“Lie” is her first single post-release, an emotional roller coaster with the mellow verses contrasting with the dramatic choruses. It’s about the blissful ignorance when you know the relationship is going sour but you don’t want to face it yet. You rely on denial to buy yourself more time, even though you’re just postponing the inevitable.
