David & Olivia Interview

David & Olivia

David & Olivia is a fantastic duo from America who I discovered late last year and loved what I heard. Their debut release On The Sea is out on the 14th of May. I needed to know more from this talented duo.

1. How did the duo form?

– We met in Hollywood, CA one evening.  We were both playing a show and new we had to work with each other in some capacity.  We formally met in the studio a couple of months later and recorded a song, “Key to My Heart.”  We knew we had something very special.

2. Are you happy how things have gone for the two of you so far?

– Yes, extremely.  It’s been a very organic and natural process that we’re happy to be apart of.

3. How did it feel to play sxsw?

– It was an amazing experience.  We got to be around some incredible artists and met some great people.  We’re looking forward to being back next year.

4. What do you hope that will do for you?

– We hope to continue the momentum that we’ve been building with the release of our debut EP, On The Sea.

5. What inspired the EP?

– Traveling down dusty vineyard roads along the winding California coast.

6. What do you hope the EP will do for you?

– We hope that it gives a good first impression.

7. How does social networking help you as an artist?

– It helps us connect with people that are interested in what we do.  There are so many useful tools to help the artist bridge the gap between fans and industry.

8. What does it mean to connect with your fans?

– It means everything.  Without them, this music would fall on deaf ears.

9. What does 2013 mean for you?

– New Beginnings.

10. What is next for the duo?

– We’ll be touring the East and West Coast of the U.S. this Summer and Fall.  We look forward to getting back into the studio this Winter and hope to get to Australia in 2014!
