Chelsea Wilson – I Hope You’ll Be Very Unhappy Without Me (House Of Valerie Joan)
Chelsea Wilson debut album is catchy funky slice of soul music that delivers the good times. It open ups with the striking opening track Through With Lovin’ You. I Let A Good Man Down is a sold soul number with solid vocals and lyrics and some killer guitar playing no more evident in the opening of the song. One Day At A Time is more of song that shows of the vocals and musicianship of the band and Chelsea song writing, the use of horns is good here. Bitterness just shines with the laid back vibe with solid vocals and lyrics. The band just shines here. The title track I Hope You’ll Be Very Unhappy Without Me is a well written beautiful song that shows of Chelsea amazing vocals and song writing, love the use of the horns and the band just shines here. Closer is another winner of a track with guitar playing, vocals and use of horns. Hit Em Like Ali is funky tune with some great vocals and good use of backing vocals which shine here. Don’t Stop For Nothing is also another groovy funky tune that deserves to be cranked loud and boogie down to. If You Don’t Want finishes off the album with a solid well written tune that shows of Chelsea song writing, vocals and lyrics. The version I have which I put money into comes with a cool reggae version Through With Lovin’ You and three other awesome songs that show of Chelsea amazing talents. Seriously this is a well written, produced and sung debut album by an amazing Australian talent. The artwork is striking and shines, Chelsea Wilson to me is a Star and deserves to be discovered and heard. If you love good music add this to your collection now.
