Interview With Charlotte By Chris
Charlotte Rees is a great young Australian
actress.
I loved her in Blurred
We wanted to know more from this great talent.
More importantly what will we see her in next.
1.What made you want to be an actress?
Many things. To be honest I just always knew. But a few
things confirmed it- My absolute Love for films, actors and
actresses and the arts in general. My brothers and i were
always writing and putting on plays and creating crazy
worlds for ourselves. I feel being the youngest child in a
biggish family meant I learnt quickly how to perform for
attention!
2.Who were your idols growing up?
My eldest brother.Then ahhhh I don’t know anyone in Twin
Peaks. Oh I loved the Jackson 5, Madonna, anyone in the
film The Outsiders, it was all about big drastic dodgy
phases actually- Matt Dillon had a good year as my Acting
Pinup Boy!
3.What has been your favourite role to play so
far?
For challenge factor, the character of Nina in Let Me Not
(Not yet released)
4.What was it like working on the movie
Blurred?
100% Fun with awesome people
5.If you could work with anybody who would it
be?
Well I don’t know- anyone who could teach me something
about myself.
6.Who are your favourite actresses and actors?
Susan Sarandon, Meryl Streep, Sean Penn, Jack Nicholson,
Cate Blanchett, Charlie Chaplin, lots of comedians Steve
Martin, i love comedians.
7.What are some of your favourite movies?
Matrix, Cabaret, 1900, The Outsiders, Twin Peaks, Running
on Empty, Ferris Beullers Day Off, Dancer in the Dark,
Annie! (i like all sorts, depending on the mood!)
8.What movies you have seen lately you have really
enjoyed?
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Finding
Nemo
9.What are some of your favourite musical
artists?
Sting, U2, Sinead O’Connor, George, any good boogie music
eg Jackson5
10.What would we find on Charlotte Rees stereo at the
moment?
Scissor Sisters
11. What are you thoughts on remaking movies and what
would you remake?
Yeah look if it is a great story and it is making it more
accessible to a new generation but keeping with its
original essence, sure, the original will always have its
special place. If i was to be in a remake- oh something big
like Gone With the Wind, A Streetcar Named Desire or
Casablanca!
12. What are your favourite genre of movies?
Sci fi adventure romanctic comedic dramas!
13.Who have you enjoyed working with the most?
I had a great time with Petra Yared on Blurred and Rodger
Corser on Let Me Not. Gary Sweet actually taught me alot
re; technical working with the camera stuff.
14.What were some of your favourite tv shows growing
up?
The Goodies,Cheers, Moonlighting, and Monkey.
15. What have you got lined up next?
Yaaay there’s something very exciting and juicy for me,
hush hush but will let you know when confirmed! Thankfully
for a lot of people there are some very interesting
projects in the pipeline!
