Catch Release Records sign The Evening Cast
New Melbourne based imprint Catch Release Records is incredibly proud to announce its first signing; Geelong indie-pop group The Evening Cast. The much hyped five-piece have just put the finishing touches on their new EP, titled ‘Lake’ with producer Marty Brown (Clare Bowditch, Art Of Fighting) at Stand Alone Studios in Melbourne.
The Evening Cast independently released a teaser single from the EP, ‘Factory’ which went on to receive additions on a number of community radio stations as well as attaining high praise from a host of contemporaries and reviewers. It was ‘Factory’s’ unique personality and desperate energy that struck a chord with Catch Release and inspired artist and label to come together.
Recent support slots for the likes of Oh Mercy and Clare Bowditch validate The Evening Cast as a hard-working, in demand live act. The band will celebrate the release of ‘Lake’ through Catch Release Records with an intimate hometown launch show at Beav’s Bar in Geelong on November 22, with the EP being released nationally on December 7 through Catch Release/Green Media. New single and National Tour dates will be announced shortly for the new year.
