1. How did you get into music?

I started my first band at school with 4 other girls. After that it just kept going…

2. Who were your idols growing up?

I grew up in the 80s so of course I loved Annie Lennox, Kate Bush and the like. But my main idols would have to be Joan Baez, Melanie Safka, Joni Mitchell and all the other wonderful folk singers my parents played.

3. Who were your influences?

My current influences are Neko Case, Carla Bruni, Jenny Lewis, Lori McKenna and any other voice that turns me on. My initial influences would have to be the folk singers of the 60s and 70s.

4. Are you happy with the responses from the EP?

Very happy. This EP seems to be connecting with more people.

5. What have responses been like to your music on the web?

I’ve had some good response from the USA which shows that my touring on that side of the world is starting pay off. The web is my biggest tool. It gets me and my music around the globe. The site and myspace are integral for me as an independent artist.

6. Has the Internet helped with your music?

Of course. The Internet is the fastest way for someone to find me, hear me and then buy my CD.

7. Do you think tools like MySpace are useful?

Like I said…myspace is another great tool for promoting your music as well as meeting many other musos from around the world.

8. Who you would most like to tour with?

Neko Case Natalie Merchant Gillian Welch

9. If you could work with any one who would it be?

A producer that hears things the way I do.

10. Is it hard to get radio to play your music?

Commercial but community radio is very supportive.

11. Have you had much response from radio?

A good amount from community and local.

12. What was it like playing at the greatest venue ever CBGB?

Like being part of music history. You can feel the history of the place. It was an incredible experience that I will always cherish.

13. What is it like playing in America being from Australia?

Yhey love the accent and they love Aussies. Need I say more.

14. Have you had much response from record labels?

I haven’t been targeting them. I’m in a niche music genre and I like it that way.

15. What is on your stereo at the moment?

Josh Rouse

16. What are some of your favorite musical artists/bands?

Too many. I love folk, jazz, opera, rock… as long as it has a melody and some soul I’m hooked.

17. Any plans to tour the country?

East coast tour later in year.

18 Who have you has helped you out the most?

My mum.

19. What inspires you when writing music?

Most things. A word, a colour, a scenario, the way someone looked at me on the train. The list is endless.

20. How did the recording process go for the EP?

We recorded live all together at the same time which made things run very smoothly.

Thanks again for your time any last words

ciao ciao
