1. How did you get into music?

I had asthma as a kid and went through a lot of different treatments. One day, a nurse suggested that I try singing lessons to help increase my lung capacity and help me with my breathing. I was really excited about it, because I remember I had been asking my parents for singing lessons since I was really little.

2. Who were your idols growing up?

I grew up listening to whatever records my parents played (which was a lot of classic rock and Motown) and all of the Disney movie music. I had the soundtrack to mostly every Disney movie that was released during the 90’s. So, I ?guess all of the Disney princesses were my idols! haha

3. Who were your influences?

I would have to say my family inspires me. Also, my music teachers really influence me. Musically, I listen to a lot of different genres and it would be hard to list all of my influences.

4. How did you get involved with such producers Rob Fusari,Heather Holley & Jeff Timmons?

My manager arranged for me to work with all of them.

5. Have you had much response from record labels?

Yes, I have had some label interest.

6. Has the internet helped with your music?

It has helped tremendously with getting my music out to the public and with networking.

7. Do you think tools like MySpace are useful?

Definitely! It really helps with getting my music heard and is an amazing marketing, as well as networking tool. People all across the world have the opportunity to listen and I love getting their feedback. It’s a great tool for emerging artists!

8. How do you managing doing the music and school at the same time?

It is difficult. Now that it is the summer, I can devote my time solely to music, but while in school it is all about finding balance. I work hard at my schoolwork, because education is really important to me, and out of school and after homework, music is what I work on.

9. Are you happy things are going so far with your music?

Yes, everything is finally coming together and it is progressing in the right direction.

10. Who has been the most help so far with your music?

My manager and all of the producers I have worked with thus far. Each recording session, I grow as an artist and learn new things that all help to improve on my craft.

11. What inspires your music?

Reading and watching movies really inspires me. I identify with the characters and write music based on what they went through. Also, as a teenager, a lot of my music is based on my life experiences and things that I see.

12. Who would you most like to record a song with and play with?

Probably with John Legend or Alicia Keys.

13. What is on your stereo at the moment?

I have been listening to a lot of Motown music lately. I have been listening Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Carla Thomas, Percy Sledge etc.

14. What are some of your favourite musical artists/bands?

Some of my favourite artists (the list is soooooo long! There are too many to list) would have to be Leona Lewis, Amy Winehouse, Chrisette Michele, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, India.Arie, John Legend, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Al Green, etc. There are so many more!

15. What has been the highlight so far?

I can’t narrow it down to just one highlight. Meeting and working with Rob Fusari and Jeff Timmons was absolutely wonderful and then travelling to Sweden and working with the fantastic people at Pama Records was amazing too! I have to say that each recording session has been a highlight!

Thanks for everything Chris!! Talk to you soon…
