1. Are you happy with the responses to the album?
Yes! blown away in fact. It’s the first album i’ve had no regrets about (yet) and it seems that it’s being received that way too

2. What inspires you now as an artist?
seeing my friends grow and change and being in love and traveling and hearing people’s stories…

3. Is it easier for you now to write a song or more or less the same?
my whole attitude around writing is ‘easier’ now, i don’t worry myself to death about it as much, but the actual song writing is still not ‘easy’. occasionally a song will present itself fully formed and lovely but mostly i have to work at it with a routine

4. How did it feel to play the Federal Parliament’s apology for forced adoptions?
thrilled, honoured, nervous. I was just glad to be a part of the day and see the emotional relief for lots of people as they got the apology and acknowledgement they had long deserved

5. Are you happy how Jessie has been received?
Yes, especially from the people affected by forced adoption. many spoke to me about how they were moved hearing their story in song.

6. What has been the highlight for your career so far?
Singing with Bonnie Raitt, Singing at the apology for forced adoption, seeing the US through music, playing with my band!

7. What advice could you give to some one wanting to make a career in music?
Follow your own instincts, don’t always listen to the ‘experts’. Only you know what’s right for you. if you love making music and you’re passionate, the other stuff will fall into place

8. What does 2013 mean for you?
two trips to the US, releasing ‘the moment’ in the US, touring Australia again at the end of the year with my friends..

9. Do you think the internet makes it easier for you to get your music out there?
yes absolutely, You no longer need a record label to do that for you

10. What is next for yourself?
i’m learning to sew! i want to make my own clothes…and i’d like to learn to cook (better)
