Sydney-based singer-songwriter Lucy Burke has unveiled her new single, Little Ol’ Me, which premiered exclusively via AAA Backstage. The release marks the first taste of her forthcoming EP.
She has also announced a limited run of tour dates to celebrate the release.
“Little Ol’ Me is an upbeat, slightly quirky take on self-doubt — playful on the surface, but quietly honest and cutting underneath. It pokes fun at overthinking, the constant second-guessing, and that familiar habit so many of us have of shrinking and silencing ourselves in social situations just to maintain cohesion — even when we know it doesn’t feel right. Biting our tongue to keep the peace.”
Lucy Burke blends dreamy pop, cinematic warmth and a playful, introspective edge. Known for her expressive vocals and melodic storytelling, Lucy creates songs that drift between light and shadow — capturing humour, heartbreak and humanity in the everyday.
Lucy recently entered the studio to record her upcoming EP, ushering in a new creative era defined by organic instrumentation and contemporary warmth. The project deepens her cinematic pop sound, with nuanced vocal phrasing and moments of gentle jazz influence woven naturally into her storytelling.
Her latest single, Little Ol’ Me, is out now on all major streaming platforms.

New York–based artist Lauren Minear returns with Boxing Day (Deluxe), an expanded and deeply personal continuation of her acclaimed 2025 album Boxing Day. Documenting two years of artistic and emotional self-discovery, the deluxe edition captures Minear coming to terms with how her past continues to shape her present. In many ways, it feels like a beginning. “It was so transformative,” Minear explains, “that in some ways, it feels like my first album.”
Written across New York and London throughout 2023, Boxing Day (Deluxe) began to fully take shape during a February 2024 creative retreat in Woodstock, NY. From there, the project was tracked between producer Dan Weeks’ London studio and Minear’s home studio in Westchester, NY. The result is a cinematic, introspective body of work rooted in confidence, clarity, and creative freedom.
“This album has taught me how to speak up for myself,” Minear says. “The main theme is anger, but the story I’m conveying is that self-expression facilitates emotional freedom. The opposite of depression is creativity.”
Townsville based Indie/Punk Rockers Poison Oak have released their new single called ‘Melt’, which premiered exclusively via Backseat Mafia. The single is the latest offering from their upcoming album release.
The band have also announced a single launch at Otherwise Bar (Townsville) on March 7 to celebrate the release alongside No Clue, Mire and Prior Self.
“Melt is a satirical take on how conspiracy culture and online extremism have seeped into everyday life. It plays with the absurdity of tin foil hats, 5G paranoia and fluoride panic, using humour to highlight how easily misinformation spreads and reshapes reality.”
Poison Oak have spent the last several years stealing hearts and minds with their electrifying live show, playing countless shows around the country, supporting the likes of Slowly Slowly, Tones and I and DZ Deathrays, as well as gracing the stage at Tropic Sounds Festival.

Canadian country powerhouse Marshall Dane returns with “Somebody Somewhere,” an upbeat yet reflective anthem that reframes loss through gratitude and strength. Rooted in North Americana and country-pop influences, the track celebrates the enduring power of love, honouring the people who shaped us and continue to travel with us long after they’re gone.
Originally sparked during a four-and-a-half-hour writing session with songwriter Matt Rogers, the only idea that survived was a simple phrase that would later become the song’s soaring chorus. “We let the song sit,” Dane explains. “Until I took that great hook and brought it to Rosanne Baker Thornley. Together we turned a sombre set of chorus lyrics into an empowering song about the power of love.”
Canadian indie alt-pop artist Maddy Little returns with “Quicksand,” a quietly devastating reflection on self-doubt, overthinking, and the slow realization that someone you love is already halfway gone. Rather than capturing the explosion of a breakup, the song sits inside the moment before it happens when distance grows, communication fades, and blame turns inward.
Written during a period of emotional uncertainty, “Quicksand” explores the feeling of watching a relationship slip away while questioning your own worth. “I wrote this song about watching someone I loved slowly pull away and constantly blaming myself for it,” Little explains. The title reflects that emotional state — being stuck in patterns that feel impossible to escape. “Quicksand is so hard to escape once you’re in it. I kept having these thoughts about whether I was enough for this person. It felt like an emotional quicksand.”
Toronto dream pop artist ARK IDENTITY (Noah Mroueh) returns with “Fading Light,” a weightless, immersive single that trades traditional song structure for atmosphere and emotional suspension. Built on a soft, pulsing groove and washed in reverb-drenched textures, the track feels less like a narrative and more like a state of mind; floating, reflective, and quietly existential.
“The song came together entirely from a feeling and a vibe,” Noah explains. “I wasn’t trying to write a story. I was chasing a feeling.” Written and recorded in a single session, the song emerged organically as Noah improvised melodies and lyrics over an ethereal groove. Those early takes, unpolished and instinctive, ultimately became the final vocal, preserved for their honesty.
