The Massachusetts-based folk singer-songwriter is following up his recent single releases with a new window into the unspoken aspects of the human condition.
“Voice in My Head” was inspired by the nagging fears and anxieties which have the ability to plague us. The eerie yet melodic folk tune is led by acoustic guitar and gently descending slide guitar melodies, providing a brightness to the song’s isolation.
Pallotta explains that he wrote the song out of a “desire to shine light on the dark voices that often haunt our daily existence, to bring them out of the shadows.” Co-produced with Ross Peterson, Pallotta made critical production choices which heightened the song’s themes.
“The vocal is very in-your-face in order to convert the suffering of the narrator and the immediacy of the pain,” Pallotta details. “The slide instruments were an obvious choice for the haunting, distant, mood they evoke. We eliminated percussion until the end. The voice doesn’t dance.”
Sydney based Pop Punk artist Warwick Smith has just dropped his new single and music video called ‘Semi-Aquatic’, which premiered via AAA Backstage.
He has also announced that he will be playing a live show to celebrate his new release on Oct 19 at The Metro Social alongside Abbey Lane.
“I started working on Semi-Aquatic at a point where I felt frustrated and a little disheartened trying to work in music. I felt like I had to do things a very particular way and keep my messages and my branding extremely commercial and professional which was starting to get to me. The entire song is a reflection on my experience with making music vs releasing music.”
Warwick Smith is on a mission to revive the Emo culture for the youth of Australia with his dynamic blend of Pop Punk, Rock and Alt Pop. Rooted in emotional exploration, his music is leaving an indelible mark on the Alternative music scene and beyond. Warwick Smith is promising to be the voice of a new era of emotional expression.
Warwick debuted in 2022 and has since kept up a prolific rate of release. 2023 saw the release of his album called ‘Velvet’, which debuted at #5 on iTunes Alternative charts. Since his debut, the young songsmith has gained millions of streams on Spotify and has appeared on stage alongside the likes of Glass Animals and Waterparks.
New single ‘Semi-Aquatic’ is available on all major online stores and streaming services.

Brand new track, “MONEY (on my mind),” dives deep into the chaotic swirl of thoughts that hit when cash is tight – like when your brain starts buzzing and everything feels a bit unhinged. We’ve all been there, whether it was back in high school, during those broke college days, or just last week. That mental scramble when you’re wondering how you’re going to make ends meet, or if you can even cover the bills – it’s real, and it can drive you a little crazy.
Renowned Canadian Celtic music group, LEAHY, is pleased to announce the release of “Joie de vivre,” the first single from their upcoming new album LEAHY Live In Concert (out October 25th, 2024).
The spirited accordion-led instrumental track is a medley of two original pieces composed by multi-instrumentalist Xavier Leahy, inspired by his exploration of jazz through his guitar. “I deliberately tried to write tunes outside the Irish or French boxes,” recounts the young musician, “basically trying to translate “jazz” into “Irish.”
Xavier’s aunt, Erin Leahy, influenced by pianists in the Montreal jazz scene, adds rich and intricate layers underneath Xavier’s accordion, igniting the feel with her Latin and jazz piano arrangement. In typical LEAHY form, the band’s approach takes the track in unexpected directions melodically and rhythmically, leaving the listener exhilarated and satisfied.
“Joie de vivre” was recorded during a regular live performance, filmed for a video series on which the band was working. When they listened back to the music from the show, the vibe was so dynamic that the band decided to release several tracks on an album. It’s the subject of the second episode in the video series, LEAHY: From the Inside.
The Soft/yacht rock group are sharing their upbeat, dynamic, and highly melodic self-titled debut LP. The band see it as an introduction to their sound, featuring many songs that have been honed during their live shows.
Speaking of Golden Feather, the group explains that “in these songs, you’ll experience emotions of loss, hope, uncertainty and certainty misplaced, compassion, and ultimately, love. On this album, we truly become a band. It’s the sound of Golden Feather, and we’re excited to share it with you.”
Golden Feather features the jaunty, sax leaning “Goodbye,” written in light of band member Steve Kiely witnessing his younger brother undergo a major life transformation after facing continuous struggles throughout his upbringing.
Kiely revels the song’s backstory: “A lot of times it seemed like he had given up, our relationship had dwindled to almost nothing, and it seemed like I was just waiting to hear that he had lost his battle, but he chose to keep fighting and overcame his demons to finally become the person that I, and everyone else knew he was. This song celebrates that.”
Melissa Furlotte is a singer, songwriter, composer and pianist based in Montreal. Raised in the copper mining town of Murdochville, Quebec, in the picturesque region of the Gaspésie, she grew up playing piano, singing and listening to a mix of popular, folk, country and jazz music.
In 2021, Melissa released her debut album, Old Road. The collection of 10 original songs was inspired by the landscapes of her youth, adulthood in the big city and the stories in between. Her style has been dubbed fine folk. Releasing Old Road with the support of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Quebec was an experience of a lifetime. At the same time, it fostered a new desire to reach a larger audience.
Her latest track, “Virginia Creeper,” is the first in a new collection. The wistful single is played on by collaborator Joe Grass. The instrumentation includes a warm toned antique converted player piano, recorded simultaneously to add to the song’s deeper meaning.
