Gwyn Love (they/them) is the first-ever American artist signed to Vancouver-based 604 Records, harnessing a punk mentality with an electronic-pop vibe. Together, with multi-platinum producer and composer, La+ch (best known for the certified 4x Platinum hit “2 Heads” with Coleman Hell), they’ve crafted an upbeat, feel-good track for the summer, “happy 2 b here.”

“happy 2 b here represents moving from Oklahoma to LA perfectly to me,” Gwyn explains. “It combines the two vibes whilst having a little splash of country with a dance-y beach track. This is the first song I wrote after moving to LA and it means a lot to me because it shows how much I’ve grown over the years in music. So excited to finally share this one with the world!”

“NSA is about hookup culture (specifically in the gay men community) and catching feelings for someone even though you are emotionally unavailable. This song is relatable to everyone, yet still keeps the essence of what it means to be gay and to fall in love, even when you aren’t “ready” for it.” – Leetham

Award-winning power duo Campbell & Johnston are a soulful blend of vintage blues-rock, roots and folk with a modern twist. Trading off lead vocals, harmonies and guitar solos, the two are a musical yin and yang, captivating audiences with raw emotion and heartfelt authenticity. Whether experiencing their performance as an acoustic duo, or with their full electric band, the chemistry is palpable and the musicianship is top-notch.

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness all led towards their album, Paisley Hearts, setting the stage for a jam-packed year of touring ahead. The new collection is centered around love and loss, regret, righteousness…and smoking hash and drinking coffee. Focus track, “Don’t Get Down (On a Good Thing),” serves as a “tongue and cheek reminder that this too shall pass, and a war of attrition can only be won one way, by staying the course,” says Johnston.

Don’t Get Down (On a Good Thing)” is an upbeat soul rock jam reminiscent of Sly and The Family Stone and the Hendrixian ways of days gone by.

SYDNEY BASED INDIE ROCKERS RELEASE INTOXICATING NEW SINGLE ‘HOUSTON’

Sydney based trio The Dark Horsehave just released their intoxicating new single called ‘Houston’which premiered exclusively via AAA Backstage.

The Dark Horse effortlessly blend elements Indie Psychedelic Rock and Neo-Soul to form their visionary sound. This dynamic trio isn’t merely crafting songs; they’re conjuring immersive musical experiences that linger long after the final note fades. Imagine sultry, soul-stirring vocals, turntablism that warps time, and guitar solos that weave sonic tapestries. Their music ignites with a raw, unapologetic energy and the timeless groove of the ’60s and ’70s.

The band debuted in 2023 with the release of their single and music video ‘Drinking Of You’, which was launched to a sold-out crowd in Sydney. They then followed up with the release of single ‘Safety In Numbers’ earlier this year.

Picture the suavity of James Bond, the grit of Quentin Tarantino, and the allure of Amy Winehouse against the backdrop of a Texas desert sunset. This is The Sound of The Dark Horse – a sonic elixir best enjoyed responsibly.

New single ‘Houston’ is available on all major online stores and streaming services.

One of the most exciting young musicians to come out of Western Canada, Emmett Jerome has established himself as a captivating performer with a world weary voice wise beyond his years. Rooted in the old school, troubadour tradition, he has traveled coast to coast, chasing songs and soaking up stories along the way. With a bluesman’s heart and a traveler’s soul, Emmett welcomes listeners into a world where tradition and youth collide.

Following his debut single, “Goodbye Trouble,” he shares “Willow Rose, a new glimpse into his Rocky Mountain Son album, set for release later this year via 604 Records.

Debra-Jean Creelman is a Vancouver based singer-songwriter best known for her expansive, emotive voice and neo-soul influenced compositions. Getting her start with pop auteurs Mother Mother in the early aughts, Creelman has built a career defined by precision, polish, and otherworldly vocal performances that have neatly sculpted the landscapes of pop, jazz, and soul.

She has teamed up with experimental trumpet player JP Carter (Destroyer), multi-instrumentalist Sean Cronin, and Jo Passed’s Jo Hirabiyashi to create the melodic and searching “Say Goodnight,” which questions whether it’s possible to maintain one’s artistic edge while being in love.

“Are all relationships transactional? Is it possible to let go of control and be vulnerable – whilst remaining self actualized?” questions Creelman when speaking of the song’s inspirations.

Veteran Toronto singer-songwriter and 4x JUNO nominee Julian Taylor has an upbeat and bluesy new slice of his upcoming album, Pathways (out September 27th), to share.

Running Away” juxtaposes the weary Americana of lead single “Weighing Down” with a driving piece of blues rock which tries to outrun hurt and pain instead of facing it head on.

“All my life I’ve been a huge rural blues fan,” explains Julian. “My grandfather used to spin old blues records like Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee when I was a kid so that kind of rockabilly country blues groove lives inside me. I would say that [this] song is inspired by the blues music that came out of plantation fields.”

This song was produced by Colin Linden and the version you hear today is the first take recorded live off of the floor, capturing the electrifying spark of a rollicking and soulful full band groove.
