TEEN BLUSH is the solo artist and production project from Chicago-based musician Ken Foss. With a sound that traditionally glides through elements of dream pop, shoegaze, new wave and true alternative rock, Foss creates an experience that is both familiar and refreshing.

He broadens his sonic palette through a collaboration with fellow Chicago-based artist/producer skagboy who takes the songwriting prowess he has established throughout the existing catalogue and brings it into a new electronic alt-pop soundscape.

Released on indie record label Everything Forever, IS IT ALREADY FALL TIME? combines elements of different genres of electronic dance music and hyperpop/glitchcore. The EP explores themes such as being haunted, ghosts, space, late-night adventures, and what it feels like to want to fall in love with someone – all through the lens of the season of autumn.

The latter is captured in the focus track, “FALL TIME,” which is both about the excitement of fall approaching and the ache to be close to someone who is far away, while fully knowing they only want the parts of you that they find convenient. Ultimately, it’s about being foolish enough to convince yourself that somehow that might change.  

Rozette (Jenn Beaupré) is a Calgary-based singer/songwriter and international vocal coach who has been sharing her big, powerful and technically masterful voice across North America for the past decade. During this time, she has appeared on Canadian Idol and Stampede City Sessions, performed at the Vancouver Olympics, opened for the Moscow Ballet, won the Calgary Stampede’s Most Promising Young Artist Award, and sang the national anthem at several NHL games.

“People are hard to hate close up. Move in.” This quote by Brené Brown resonated with Rozette, whose new single “Salt in the Water” conveys that we all want the same thing: To love and be loved. To feel safe. To see and be seen. Underneath all of the opinions, and the often divisive issues in our society, we are more the same than different. We are all doing our very best.

Bobby Freemont & Chrome Daphne have teamed up for a cool new collab. Melding Bobby Freemont‘s bedroom pop with Chrome Daphne‘s slick production, the song, “Little Bit,” is about those times when you think things are getting better until your friends leave and you’re alone. 

A summer day can feel like a winter night pretty quickly. At the same time, you can zoom out and look at it as saying things are good now but you never know what’s around the corner. Life is full of good times and bad and that line encompasses both of them. There’s beauty in that.

Freak folk artist L.T. Leif (they/them) is rooted in the self-sufficient spirit of their hometown of Calgary, though they have carried their wandering curiosity all over the world. Now living in Glasgow, they are an adopted member of the Scottish DIY music scene whose life and art has been heavily shaped by northern landscapes and climes.

The first single, “Pass Back Through” is from their upcoming album, Come Back To Me, But Lightly (Jan. 27, 2023). 

Leif had just gone through a painful loss before writing this song, and it was dredging up their unresolved issues from the past. They were struck by the harsh way that lessons seem to repeat themselves ad nauseam, reformatting themselves but coming at you over and over. “Pass Back Through” is an image of endurance that is flexible and moving: you still have a life to live. That path you’re walking isn’t linear – sometimes it’s all circles, and that’s ok.

Music and (literal) movement have defined DJ Karaba‘s entire life. Karaba was born in Grenoble, France and, at the age of seven, moved to Montreal. Her first love was dance, and she danced for some of pop music’s heaviest hitters such as Drake, Camila Cabello, and Selena Gomez, as well as appearing in numerous music videos and award shows. Eventually, she found her way to DJing and music production, a thought that had been bubbling up in the back of her mind for some time.

The Délivrance EP represents three years of hard work and dedication. It is very much afro house, tinted with other sounds that have inspired DJ Karaba. Together with Stephen Ramsay of Young Galaxy, DJ Karaba co-produced the five track EP and collaborated with other artists such as Mopao Mumu and Afrikan Drums.

Marthe Halvorsen is a Montreal based Norwegian artist and composer who weaves together dreamy evocative Indie Folk Music. With a unique sincerity in her voice, Halvorsen has a special ability to touch something deep inside the listener.

“For The Dreamers & The Bold” came to Halvorsen at a time when she was feeling a bit frustrated with humanity. She felt that the social political climate was getting harsher and more polarized, creating distance between people. She was longing for another reality with more nuances and compassion, and for a world where humbleness is seen as a virtue. 

It’s the title track from her upcoming sophomore LP, to be released in Spring 2023.

The Saskatoon-born alt-pop singer/songwriter velours is named after the French word for “velvet,” for her beautifully soft voice and her music style. She writes about the human condition, the lyricism colliding with beautifully authentic melodies. CBC has listed her as one of the “12 Sask. musicians changing the sound” of Saskatchewan. 

velours was inspired by a feeling she had of the whole world crumbling around her, though still having a sparkling, vibrant love that grows, despite it all. Her concept of “Flowers in a Wasteland” not only has contrasting imagery, but she also wanted to mix that with a killer upbeat pop rock energy. The idea that something so beautiful and fragile like a flower can thrive in something so visually miserable like a wasteland was such a fun concept to work with. 

Toronto rock band, Goodnight Sunrise, was founded by Vanessa Vakharia (keytar, vocals) and David Kochberg (guitar, vocals) through a shared love of pop hooks and the raw power of classic rock. Since 2011, the band have taken their explosive live show to over 300 audiences across Canada, the US, and Europe, opening up for Bon Jovi, Big Wreck, and The Sheepdogs along the way.

“Single All The Way” offers a unique perspective to the holiday season. Their original Christmas song goes full pop-punk, with a hint of holiday in the sleigh bells as percussion and some light festive-sounding samples. Inspired by romcoms, the doorbell at the end of the bridge and the sound of a plane taking off are an ode to Love Actually. Instead of believing that the only way to be happy during the holidays is to be in love, “Single All The Way” celebrates the joys of being single at Christmas.
