Artist To Watch Out For: Jesse Lee
I first discovered Jesse Lee 5 years ago and review her debut album and when I redesigned the site, some how I lost the review but found it again. I thought then her voice and the songs were incredible. Now she signed to the major label and doing wonders for herself. She has got some great country tunes that are a joy to ear such as It’s A Girl Thing, Like My Mother Does. Her latest album is gonna be amazing. I for one is a fan and I can’t wait to hear. This girl is the next big thing in country music. She incredible and she worth checking out.
This is an old review thought I had lost but found it and thought it was worth uploading since the rise of Jesse Lee who is an incredible talent.
Jesse Lee – Room To Breathe (Direct Image
Jesse Lee is a great American country and western artist
and well is going places with her album Room To Breathe.
The first track River Child is a true country song and
really does shine her vocals as she works well with the
music and that makes the music fantastic. Back To The Flame
is another great song that also shows of her vocals and
which also works well with the music. The music in general
has been written and well to really show of her voice,
which is fantastic. These two songs are really upbeat and
great country and western songs and also which Jesse has
helped in the song-writing department. Time Stands Still is
a ballad and really really shows that Jesse can so sing her
heart out. It’s probably the one song that would easily be
on radio and pick her up a lot of fans. Room To Breathe is
another great song that screams country and western that is
really enjoyable with good lyrics and good vocals. The
backing band is great and makes the music a joy to listen
to. She also contributes to song-writing with this song
also. Happy Ever After You is a great song that really gets
you tapping your feet and grooving in your seat with good
musicianship, great vocals by Jesse and just makes you want
to sing. The lyrics in a lot of the songs are pretty catchy
and you will no doubt be singing away after a few listens.
Ohio is another laid back ballad country western song that
also really shines her vocals and is a song about love
basically and having a crush on the boy next door and it is
a good song, which brings out Jesse. Stronger Than That is
another great ballad number, which has great vocals, good
musicianship and is real joy to listen to. Redemption is a
really funky upbeat country western song that has great
lyrics, fantastic vocals and great guitar playing. I really
enjoyed this song. You Go Girl finishes off the album well
with a good old fashion country western song with Jesse
great voice and get you moving in no time and singing away.
Good Lyrics, Great Harmonies and well just a really good
song. I really enjoyed this album as I haven’t heard a
voice as good as Jesse in a long time. I can see why people
like her. A good voice goes a long away and so does this
album by Jesse Lee. For more info visit
Actor To Watch Out For – Kaylee Defer
Photo by Chris Hatcher / PR Photos
If you been living under a rock and haven’t heard of Kaylee Defer, trust me you will. She is one of the hottest up and coming actors in Hollywood at the moment. Well that what I think. I’ve been a fan of her work for ages, since I first heard about on the show The War At Home. She now gonna be in the new season of Gossip Girl, plus a role in the new Kevin Smith movie Red State and independent films Mattie & In My Pocket. The girl is gonna be rocking Hollywood in no time. She worked hard for it all and it’s paying off. Watch this space. I just hope that she’ll do a movie with my friend Michelle Page, they would be awesome on the screen together.

Band to Watch Out For – Enation
If you know me, I listen to everything but at heart I’m a rocker and love you know the kinda bands I grew up listening to in the 90’s which were pretty modern sounding. I decided to go for another look on cdbaby as I do every so offen. I came across Enation a band doing good old fashion modern edgy rock music melodies, heart and soul. Basically across between U2 & Radiohead.
There songs are driving, catchy & poppy but at the same time they do these ballads that a haunting and beautifuly powerful.
I loved what I heard and bought what I heard and I was blown away by it all. The two band guys in the band are actors and are writing such amazing music that deserves to be heard and cherish. They have been doing it for a while and what you’ll be hearing is something you wish you heard earlier

Amy Bissonnette – Beauty Of The Year
Photos by DV Studio
Amy somebody I have interviewed twice here on Parx-e. Think’s she is a gorgeous girl. Smart, a pleasure to interview and a really natural beauty. She genuine and honest. Yes she has been in PB and done some stuff there, which I would love to see more her in the mag and online. She has a degree in Psychology and I believe with her brains, natural beauty. She will go far. I believe we will see more of her. Think she a knockout and because of her charm, beauty & brains that are why I made her beauty of year.
Gossling – Until Then (MGM Distribution) Review
A good singer songwriter doesn’t need gimmicks or tricks to sell her music to an audience, the music should speak for itself and when something good as Gossling is, it doesn’t stay quiet for long. I first heard Gossling a year ago playing alongside Coby Grant, I booked for a show in December then well the rest is history, She got herself a booking agent, publicist because of her amazing debut EP and support from Triple J. The new one is amazing, It’s beautifuly written, haunting and captaviting. Songs like The Only Way are haunting anthem that are just beautifuly layered with sweet melodies, amazing piano playing and a good use of cello. Oh Darling is another track that highlights her songwriting, vocals and musicianship and how fantastic a piano player she is. I Was Young is different as it has guitar, backing vocals and good effect use of the drums, even the Banjo. It has a bit of a country & western feel to it. Ancient Love would have to be my favorite off the EP. Good use of drums, piano, cello and Helen voice is in fine form. I think this is an remarkable EP, a real achievement in songwriter and music. She has put out something that is really sweet and a joy to the ears. She will be the next big thing in music for singer songwriters. It’s already happening. Do yourself a favour, pick this up and support a real aussie talent.

Interview With Sarah McMonagle By Chris 12/01/10
Sarah McMonagle is probably the best young feamle country singer songwriter coming out of Australia in the last few year. Her debut album Tea On Tuesday is an album that is something really special and really sweet. The album is a must have and I was simply taken back by it. So read on folks.
1. Are you happy how things are gone for you so far with the music?
Yes definitely, I certainly exceeded all of my own expectations but I do have new goals that I’ve set so am looking forward to working towards achieving them now.
2. How is the album different to the last recording?
I released my EP around 3 years ago and it was something that I was very proud of but I do feel I have grown so much as a songwriter and person and the songs on the new album really reflect that. There are more personal stories on Tea on Tuesday and I feel I’ve really put my heart on my sleeve with this one.
3. What inspires you when writing music?
Lots of things inspire me, I might see or smell something or hear a great story that I think would be perfect for a song. My friends and family definitely inspire me too.
4. How was the recording process like for album?
Matt Fell produced my album, I spent about 10 days with him in the studio and it was a great experience, I was involved in every step but I really respected Matt’s work and knew he would make the songs sound great so I just let him go with it.
5. What do you think of major record labels and the new 360 deals?
There are definitely pros and cons to both being signed to a major record label and being an independent artist. I think if the deal seems right for the particular artist then they should go for it. At the end of the day major record labels are a company not a charity, they need to make money and unfortunately there isn’t a lot of money to be made in album sales anymore so they need to look at other avenues.
6. What has been your favorite place to sing so far?
Definitely at Toyota Star Maker, it was such a professional set up and a huge audience, pretty nerve racking but I loved it.
7. Are you happy how people have responded to your music?
Yes very much, I realise my music isn’t for everyone but I have been receiving some great feedback and responses, I made the album for me and the stories are very personal and it’s so nice when people tell me they can relate to my stories too.
8. Who have you enjoyed working with the most?
So many people, definitely the musicians on the album and the other independent artists who play at the same festivals.
9. Do you think Australia needs a dedicated country music station
I think that could be a great idea as so many people love country music but can’t access a country radio station everywhere. I’m lucky enough to have 989fm a 24/7 country station here in Brisbane to listen to. I would hate for it to push out the community stations though as they do such a great job promoting country music.
10. How has the media responded to the album and your music?
I’ve had some fantastic reviews and stories in Capital News and Country Update magazines and some great feedback from radio presenters across the country.
11. Any plans to play down here in Melbourne?
I really hope to play around Australia a bit more in 2010 and I really love Melbourne so it would definitely be on my list to do.
12. What advice can you give to people who wanna make a career in music?
I was given this advice when I attended the CMAA College of Country Music – Be nice to the people on the way up because you’ll need them on the way back down.
